    Save Macros on the server

Saving anything in the local client is silly, but especially things like macros and map annotations (when we get them) is just annoying.

Save them as part of the character info, and pull them down to the client every time you connect.

(Ok, really the only thing client side should be a cache of the text. When you fire off the macro, the client should send a 'run macro #12' to the server, rather than sending the individual commands up the wire, but that would require a restructure. Storing the text blobs would be easy.)

I didn't see a dev tag for the UI, so if anyone knows what it is, feel free to add it.

FFXI had this i'm sure in due time they would add this for FFXIV so we can save our macro and UI set up.

Yes you could save them you just had to do it yourself to save them on to the server by doing the following. Also this was added years ago which was a nice addon to FFXI every sense that i can load my Macro on my PS2 or any PC i was using at the time. I hope FFXIV would also this some time soon

Now when i return to FFXI i can just reload the macros and i don't have to do any of the macros

The following data can now be backed up on PlayOnline's servers.
-"Config" settings inside the main menu (excluding platform-specific settings such as "key assign", and language-specific items).
-[Current tell target] history for "chat" inside the active command window.
    -Macro and book data.
    -Map marker data.
-Item display sorting data for the "bid" option in the auction menu.

    [Storage Location]
It is now possible to store configuration data on PlayOnline's servers, in addition to your game machine's own hard disk drive. Up to four slots are available on your hard disk for this purpose, while one slot is available on the server. One slot stores one character's worth of configuration data. Selecting a used slot will overwrite existing data.

    "Saving"
    PlayStation 2": L1 button + L3 button
Xbox 360: LB + left stick button
    Keyboard: [Shift] + [Alt] + [Ctrl] + [B]

    "Reloading"
    "PlayStation 2": R1 button + R3 button
Xbox 360: RB + right stick button
    Keyboard: [Shift] + [Alt] + [Ctrl] + [R]

    Deleting Configuration
    "PlayStation 2": R1 button + L2 button + R3 button + L3 button
    Xbox 360: R2 + L2 + right stick button + left stick button
    Keyboard: [Shift] + [Alt] + [Ctrl] + [D]

To save your macro for FFXIV For now too they have there own way you go too.

Documents--> My games--> User you put the user file into a winrar and put it on your USB and then switch the file later when you redownload FFXIV. This is the best way to save everything from UI setup to macros too SE allow us to save macro onto the server it self.

They should have known o.o i mean this is way before wing of the godness when they added that i think it was around the starting of Whitegate when they took out the cost on renting your mog house in a new city. before you had to talk to a npc and rent it if you not in your own city which was a pain in the ass when you were broke

anyways i hope they add this onto ffxiv for now i just Make a copy of my user file in FFXIV and put it in a winrar put a pw on it and put it on my USB or other computer too then that the best way to save your macro for FFXIV i hope this help others who are sick of losing there macro in ffxiv too they allow us to save macros.

You'll be surprised most XI players are computer illiterate (meaning they know enough to log on haha), and totally against reading stuff on the internet. It shocks me, you could log in and tell people Obama is president, and half will not know HAHA! (this is a half joke)

Saving macro on ffxi is pretty easy now ffxiv is easy too it just take small time on your part. I think if players are really computer illiterate then take small time to learn how to save the macros at least. It's take 30+hours making your macros for all your class or take 1hour to save you hours of hard work later on i have my macro save in a winrar so if my computer get mess up i have a back up for it. it's always nice having back up for stuff like that even SE server can get mess up and you may lose your macro tho that very unlikely you never know.

I use Windows Live Mesh 2011 to sync my macros and other settings between 3 computers.

When it detects a file has changed it uploads it to your "SkyDrive" and then the other computers sync from there.

I've used this for my addon settings and data files in WoW for nearly a year and it works great.
