    The Blue Screen of Death

Occasionally I have been experiencing blue screens... (thanks for reminding me those still exist, Microsoft). I am at a loss what may be causing them. Sometimes I'm perfectly fine, sometimes I get 3 in an hour.

It ends with a memory dump and saying one of my drivers must be broken. I reinstalled almost everything. The only thing I can imagine is the driver to run my PS3 controller on PC. Or maybe the Razer mouse? Or maybe my graphics card is overheating? I just don't know.

Has anyone else experienced this or found the cause?

Do you have an alternative? I do use that.

Results: I deleted MotionJoy and hopefully all parts of it and tried the fake 360 version. I will update you if it worked or not.

Edit: IT WORKED, MOTIONJOY IS THE DEVIL

I've got this blue screen once after the previous 1GB update. Happened when I was on Chocobo near Copperbell mine. The screen just froze a bit with sound repeating and after that, the blue screen hi-jacked me.

Only happened once though, that was the first time on me.

Read you logs and see what's to blame, if you need help with that look up bluescreenview its a free program that allows you to view your bsod, you can get info from there and search what the driver that caused your bsod, It can be your mouse or your controller, or your vid card. speaking of vid card, is your fan on the card still working, open your case and power on your pc , see if your fan is turning on the video card.

Motioninjoy driver connects to IP addresses in China, as discussed many times on here its a badly programmed security risk and yes causes BSOD for many people. Other things that can cause BSOD include overheating, overclocking / voltage adjusting.

Two days ago I got BSOD 3 times and I am not using Motioninjoy. My error looks like OP's but it has something to do with my Nvidia drivers being corrupted or my graphics card being overheated.

If you are unsure why you got BSOD, you can check your error information in Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System.
