You have to know how humans act. If one way of leveling is better than others, then someone will always claim it gives too much exp or is the only way. In reality it is simply the fastest way and you have plenty of options.

It will be next to impossible to make every action in FF14 give you the same exp/hour rate. Because you can't give all classes equal killing speed and then claim they are DPS, tank, healer. You can't calculate the speed all parties will progress through a dungeon. And of course if you are trying to equalize things you also can not reward people for doing better than others since their exp instead needs nerfing so they should redo it to match the time investment of other groups.

It will be easier for yourself and everyone, if you accept that some classes and some events will be getting more exp/hour.

I'd like a significant boost to dungeon xp and also some open world "elite" type mobs that require a balanced party to grind on for good xp. FF without grind just feels...wrong. Grinding xp is horrible after like lvl 10.

yaknow, some people quit playing if leveling is to SLOW. and they base EXP off of the contribution. And the way FATEs play they need to give the exp they do. Because it requires alot of people to participate, as well as effort to do. Its open to the public. So its completely necessary. If they didnt give that much exp. They would be completely ignored and no one would do them.

I think youre wrong about the MOBZERGED thing because its a OPEN DYNAMIC EVENT. Where players can participate regardless of being in a party or not. They also give a sense of life to the world. more interactivity. Open to the entire map.

after promoting my maelstrom to first sergeant, i realized something
Fate is indeed the only way to gain Seals if you want to purchase those GC gears and items as you level up you character
if you rarely do Fates or not Fatezerging, you won't be able to purchase those gears at the appropriate level
what i meant is, you'll be able to purchase it without Fates eventually, but your level will be already too high
i also do all GC logs and leves, but still not enough seals to purchase a whole set
those gears are too expensive if you're not doing Fates

Battlecraft leves and Dungeons arnt very motivating to do. BCleves feel like they arnt worth doing because the exp gain isnt very decent. And dungeons can have quite a que. Guildhests, only give a good amount of exp and rewards ONCE, and theyre hardly worth queuing up again on alternative classes/jobs.

Back to FATEs, it kind of stinks because you have to literally watch your map
You can level fairly fast fighting 2-3 levels higher mobs and chaining with "well fed"...not sexy but works for me so far...don't know about later on though. Is party chaining viable?? ....have not tried that yet either. I really cannot image though leveling to 50 a second Class/Job without all the Main Story Quests though...that is going to suck pretty bad.

The problem I see though is that levelling is so fast in general, even moreso with FATEs, that once someone completes a dungeon once for their story, there's no need to go back to it ever again. Sure the dungeon gives exceptional gear for its level, but the problem is that those levels can be completely bypassed in a few hours by running FATEs with subpar gear, or even no gear.
Honestly, gear can be completely bypassed until level 50. There's no community pressure before level 50 as far as gear since everything can be solo'ed easily with subpar gear. The only real solution is to nerf FATE xp into the ground and force grouping and drastically increase levelling time, but the MMO community as a whole outside of FFXI have deemed that unacceptable over the past 8 or 9 years. So we're kinda stuck in a situation where levels 1-49 are stupid easy and fast and content is disposable and meaningless.
The real game is at max level I guess.

People dont care about the game, they jsut want to hit 50 fast as possible. I swear you could put a NPC in a round room, with a credit card system an buy level 50 an they would flock to it. then stand there all day an tell each other how tough it was to get there....

On my server there are whole zones of nothing but spam "fate this an fate that groups".... nothing els is ever said. God help you if you ever make a comment on how idiotic it is cos then 50 people start abusing you lol.It is sad because the game is great fun an the so called level 50s have not seen any of it. They dont care about anything but how fast they can get xp.
I get called a noob an all sorts of bollox on a daily basis because I dont care when I level. I think I am level 29 today an just dont care. I potter about craft, explore kill grind quest, whatever I feel like or whatever is in front of me. An yet they call me strange lol

    Welcome to todays generation

Im morely into the social experience really. I wanna make friends and meet alot of people. And back during 1.0 i remember standing in a full party grinding mobs that are like 5 levels higher then us? and it be difficult enough to take a while to kill 1-3 but at the same time easy enough to hold a good conversation and make friends. And being an MMORPG its a pretty big deal to be able to build bonds and make friends to play with.

I know alot of people dont like monster kill grinding but at the same time alot of people do like monster kill party grinds... because of what i said before. And its not stupid to have variety of options. and this was my idea for it http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...2/blog/100865/ or atleast part of it.

What most people fail to understand is - this game is very very encouraging so that you get out there and play with others - strangers even - and do everything on its power to reward party play. At the same time the developer also created a game that is quite solo friendly for those anti social weirdos that do not want to play with others or deemed everyone else sucks but me - i't all about me - i forgot everything about you.... For those, they are still forced to do a few dungeon to advance main story.

There are at least several ways to get XP - FAST in this game - if you want to do a bit more exploration and socializing.

    - FATE is one of the most popular one, you can make fate party, all other member contribution helps you to achieve max points. You can take along people who are a few level below you - they still gain good amount of xp - and there is safety by numbers. Go make 8 people party - grab those strangers.

    - Normal mob grind, the same 8 people can murder mobs that are 2-4 levels above them and chain very fast, you all get same xp, similar to how you exploit abyssea, so make those party and murder the entire mob in one area while spamming FATE.

    - You can also do the levee quest with the same group, max the level of the mob - chain those xp, and get rewards (i think only the one that initiate the levee got the reward) but you can rotate your party member levee and spam them.

    - And finally your usual dungeon grinding for xp. Best to do it at your max level - say dungeon is for lvl 24, you get max xp if you go at lvl 24-26

Take advantage those combination and spam them to lvl up very fast and meet random people. Be nice and respect other players
