This is why we needed high level beta test too during beta, so we could locate all these issues (FATE disproportionate exp gain, AK speed runs, etc) and they balanced them before the game's launch.

Beta 3 was the perfect opportunity to do exactly that.

I hope there is a hotfix soon, probably will come with the summer event.

I like the idea of fates being desirable. Games which require dungeon grinding to level up quickly ruin a key aspect of the game which is populating the zones. I don't want a game like WoW where everyone sits in a city waiting for a queue pop.

After you have used up all the quests, you do hunting logs, grind Fates, do dungeons, do leve's, or grind mobs. I do a healthy mix of Leve's, hunting logs and Fates. Dungeons I will do the first time or with friends. But, just grinding them to get xp is completely not worth it, the amount of time compared to the amount of xp you get is terrible.

I think the problem in EVERY game is that if there is a preferred way of doing something, then people start calling for nerfs. Why would you want a nerf on something, just because others prefer it? You want to pigeon hole those people who prefer that option, in to doing what YOU prefer doing? Why not make dungeons worth more xp, or make leve's give more xp? No, no, its just nerf Fates.

I think they put in Fates just for this very thing. They figured "Hey! We have all the other options, so lets throw this in there as well, more options is always better!" Stop calling for nerfs just because you dont prefer to level this way, others do.

The storyline quests don't require much effort either, to be honest. Oh sure, every once in a while you actually have to think (primal fights, for example)... but usually the storyline quests are just solo FATE's for all intent and purpose. And they give just as much XP, to be honest. Heck... what I would end up doing (before the wellspring that is storyline quests dried up due to approaching the end of the storyline) would be follow the storyline quests to a quest hub, pick up the storyline quest and all subsequent side quests... do them all in one go, then turn them all in at once... rinse and repeat. The Costa del Sol area, for example, netted me 100k for about 30 minutes of actual questing. To put that in comparison, I spent an hour grinding FATE's in Coerthas and got 190k xp.

The only advantage FATE's have over storyline quests (and side quests, for that matter) is they are repeatable... whereas the quests are not. From an XP gain standpoint, they are about equal.

avoid FATE while leveling your 2nd / 3th class , u will be grinding for days , and u gonna need to lvl subclasses for crossclass skills, all casters need BLM at 26 for the instant spell , bard and monk need DRG for blood for blood and invigorate....and so on....

w/o fates how are u supposed to level ? tell me....because leves are finite and the huntin log give u at most 1 or 2 lvls , then what?

Every game this is an issue.

People wish the stuff they thought was fun was better XP, because they are forced to do the best xp stuff.

    Im sorry...what?

Your choosing to play a game in a manner that is unfun for you because it will let you bypass the content of the game faster?

Game is already fast enough leveling, we don't need to buff everything under the sun here. If you find FATES boring don't do them.

Sometimes ill use the fate trains for padding out a level, or for seals....but I certainly don't do the norm which is ignore everything else and getting into a FATE mob and use that as the only way to progress...it gets boring. So I do other stuff to make the game more enjoyable.

IDGAF if my choice to play for entertainment means I reach endgame two whole days later than you.

And no, im not bothered by other people playing the game differently from me. Let the fate train folk keep doing what they are doing...just don't complain about it.

More like people play non-stop to get 50 in a week :P. I'm 34 SCH/SMN in 2 weeks and leveling just seems to get steeper and steeper. Just my opinion

Edit: but you are right, "certain FATES" do need to lower the exp count.

Make EXP parties worth it. Fast battles on trash mobs in the overworld.

I think if they did the FC battle cry XP bonus right that could be a possibility.

I wouldn't mind seeing the battle cry XP bonus bumped up a bit, and then put a few open world dungeons into the game so you could FC farm there.

Im all for options, even if I don't care on maximizing leveling since its fast enough as it is just doing quests and the occasional FATE farm.
