Leveling 1 to 50?

I am just curious on the average time it takes to level a class from 1 to 50.. I see a lot of people already 50, and I am only getting a couple of levels a night with a full time job and a family.. I am just curious to what time on average it takes. I'd like someone to differ the Battle, Gathering, and Crafting class times..

I play about 4 hours a day, with enjoying the story and whatnots took me about two weeks. But you could say that almost all the time I spent is leveling, so probably if you skip all cutscenes and don't read text comprehensively and can manage to play for 50-60 hours straight, it's about that long..

This is the case in all mmo's, you have your crowd that tries to be the quickest to max lvl having no life other than playing said game for 12 to 16 hours a day if not more, these same people are also usually the first to complain about either lack of end game content or lack of population around their lvl for said end game!

Well I'm not 50 yet on anything! But I've split my time between the DOM, DOH and BOT classes and occassionally been locked out of my main for days so...

I think a DOW/DOM is probably the quickest to level through Fate Grinding. I'd say probably 50-60 hours on your first class but the second and others will be 1/2 that due to the buff but there will be no more quests.

DoH is probably the next quickest but you'll need money to buy the mats you need off the market.

DOL is probably going to take the longest given the sheer amounts you'll have to gather.

I'm surprised no one has addressed this. You're seeing level 50 chacters because they didn't wipe your class levels from 1.0 These people haven't done 1-50 since the release, they simply imported their 50s. Don't get me wrong, it may be possible to be there starting from scratch in 2.0 if you have absolutely no life, but if it's even possible by now, it's certainly not the majority of 50s you see. (Not to mention if someone has managed 1-50 since release they wouldn't be in the same area you're in at 27).

1.0 imports are onlly permitted on Legacy servers. Goblin, the one the OP is on, is not one of them. Neither is my own server, Moogle, and there are plenty of 50's running around there.

Ah ok I wasn't aware since I'm legacy so the 50s I see have been imports :/ That's crazy though that there are that many 50s running around already. It's not only a matter of having no life to get there, but it also means you're likely not reading the story, accessing many of the novelties the game allows you, and more. Personally, I see no point in playing a game (*especially* a Final Fantasy!) for level alone and not to get immersed in the world at all. After all, the sooner you get to endgame the sooner you're likely to get bored of the game; especially if you spent no time getting immersed in the world.

Thank you everyone for your information. I am also playing with my wife who has had a rough time joining in since we also have a son who's only one year old with his own needs.. So our playtime is typically only 2-4 hours a night depending on when he goes to bed. I've gotten a bit more time in than she has because of my work schedule.. I was really just curious.
