    Does anyone actually enjoy guildleves?

    I've never done a single guildleve which I have found to be engaging or fun (up to and including the NM leves).

    One of the things SE has placed a lot of emphasis on is the guildleve system. Supposedly, guildleves are supposed to exist so you can log in and have something to do; basically quick and convenient content for casual players. While I do think the system is perfectly functional for crafting and gathering leves, the regional leves fall far short of the ideal.

    You see, the problem is, nobody actually likes doing the content, regardless of how convenient and lucrative it is.

    At the moment, everyone just does a heap of leves for the SP. We go to the crystal, throw a hologram in the air and proceed on our merry way to kill the same mobs we killed 36 hours ago.


    It's like, are you kidding me? This isn't a quest, it's grinding disguised in the form of a triathlon (but without the riding or swimming... so basically just a marathon).

    Aren't there more organic ways to implement convenient content? And shouldn't that content be more engaging than simply killing monsters that pop out of nowhere and stand around waiting for us to kill them? I don't know about you, but it's annoying that the system doesn't even try to be believable.

    But wait, the worst part isn't even the shoddy quality of these so-called quests, rather it's the heinous blue text-boxes that obscure my field-of-view every two seconds, informing me that Mob A is running away or transforming into a ladybug or something.

    Every single part of the guildleve system seems expertly crafted into making you hate the experience.

    Solutions?

    Lamest, most boring and waste of time guildleve >> Necrologos: Adamantine Wills in Nanawa Mines. Running around to spawn points that take almost 2 minutes each to get to.

    Guildleves need to just have more variety. Something like the Assaults or Nyzul Isle of Aht Urhgan in FFXI.

    I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I actually enjoy them. I prefer SPing off leves because it beats the shit out of killing the exact same mob for hours on end as in the traditional grind party. A little variety and movement is nice on the eyes. If SE hadn't tried to pass it off as something more than just a "new" way to grind ranks, then there wouldn't have been such backlash, I think. That said, the sidequests are solving the organic "side" content issue, to the varying satisfaction of players. I don't mind. Leves have never failed to satisfy me...it's grinding with much more intense rewards. I'll take it, and happily.

    Guild leves are just grinding with Bonus SP and gill/ guild marks. That's all they are. The game is nothing but grinding to lvl and do nothing when you lvl. Yes we all know the game needs major content patches for DOW/DOM and Crafters. If Crafting is suppose to be a class then it needs end content as well. That's twice the work for SE to do. Battle content and Crafting content. Not a lame ass Parley bull shit that is in the game now if your a crafter. That's just half ass for crafters. So far crafter are not a main class but a sub class. you do not need them to play the game. You also can argue you do not need DOM/DOW either. If that was the case this would be a game of constantly hitting the space bar to play the game.

    I agree with the OP GL suck hell the entire game actually sucks. If it didn't have the FF name on it and if i never played FFXI for years i would say this is the worst mmo i have ever played. It actually is the worst. No endgame. weponds suck, all jobs are almost the same. again no engame or reson to level your character.

    A lot may disagree with me about the game sucking but you cannot disagree their is no endgame content. The NM do not count as engame as a lvl 1 can also do them with your party and you will still win. SO engame is, you need the full party to be a high LVL to complete the task at hand.

    Guild Leves are a total pain in the ass. But in what game have you played that had featured a way to grind to the highest level that was actually enjoyable? I know sure as hell the seeing pink tuccan sam's on my screen for like 2 monthes was not enjoyable at all.

    Look at it this way, be happy there are Leves. If there wasn't then everyone would be complaining about the dreaded Coblyns/Doblyns grind even more.

    PS: Behest are boring as hell too. But SP is SP.

    There should be explorating leves. Like to take on a journey from a crystal to another distant ones. And having to find hidden chest on the way in some dangerous place.

    Anything but killing 10 monster at a 15 second walking distance and come back. Repeat.

    I would love to see the instance system applied to some good ol' dungeons, with leves asking for adventurers to clear the dungeons entirely, fight the boss, unlock a door/chest, and so forth.
    I'm sick of open-field MMOs, regardless of how they disguise their grinds.

    I don't mind pouring an hour or two into my max amount of leves for the day, I play MMOs just to kill time anyways.
