    PS3 client patch problems

    So. My PS3 client won't patch up since the beta 4 patch (the 2013.08.10 patch which used to be 1827.02 MB but has since changed to 2503.17 MB), so I can't update it to play with it during Early Access. Help please?

    I keep getting the following error:

    "A problem occurred while updating.
    Please restart FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn (Beta Version).
    [11006][20641][20643]"


    Yes, I'm aware that it says Beta Version. That's because I've been having this same problem since Phase 4 which caused me to steal my housemate's PS3 to be able to play at all during Phase 4.

    Problem has been solved. One rep gave us a few options to try, none of which worked. But then a second one told us to just keep trying. So we moved it to housemate's room and after a while of trying it patched up! It just wanted a change of scenery maybe? XD

    same thing is affecting me, and it has not cleared up yet. I think this is some sort of gating policy put in by SE to combat their congestion problems.

    I will download ~1400MB of the ~2500MB 8.10 patch and then it will switch to updating and then go to a black screen with the exact same error that is described by the OP.

    It has done this since phase 4, early access, and now continues through release.

    I'm getting the same problem as you.

    Hey Flareness, how did that work for you?
    Was it a wireless connection and you simply tried somewhere else in the house?
    Or was it a completely different internet account and different phone line with a different router and settings?

    We didn't change anything except the location of the PS3 in the house. BUT, we had the same problem when the new patch after Tuesday's maintenance rolled around. Basically what you have to do is just keep trying. I know that sounds dumb and that you've probably tried it a million times, trust me we did that too! We tried it a bunch of times and even did a complete wipe of the PS3 and nothing seemed to work. But this one SE employee told us to just keep trying. And we did, and now it works! Hope that somehow works for you.
