    Suggestion: There needs to be an average item level check for Garuda (Hard)

    Me and my friend just queued up for Garuda hard mode. Me tank, and him healer. We got matched with some undergeared dps that were wearing a bunch of level 20-30 gear. Their damage output was so low there was no way we were going to beat it.

    The game should check the average item level of all your items equipped when you queue for Garuda. I would say something around ilvl 55.

    There is no excuse for using lv20-30 gear in a lv50 instance. It just makes the experience bad for everyone. People should have to at least make some effort to gear up their character and not bring the whole group down.

    DF needs "vote to kick". DF needs "vote to kick". DF needs "vote to kick". Maybe if I say it enough the devs will implement it and prevent this sort of thing. XD

    I'm not too keen on I-level lockouts, but this is one of those situations that necessitates it.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
    Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

    I personally hope they find an alternative to "Your numbers must be this high to ride". Gear does not equal knowledge/skill.

    I'm acctualy surprised there is no ilvl check on any of them dungeons.I know gear doesnt equal palyer skill....but i can also tell you that no matter how skilled you are and your gear is utter crap (read ilvl35 Archers doing garuda HM) all you do is hindering your group and thus making it harder if not impossible to win the fight.

    A minimum of item level 55 would not be too unfair. AF is iLevel 55 if I recall correctly.

    I agree 100% that gear does not equal skill, but there are fights where even the most skilled players cannot progress simply because it is a 'gear' check (DPS race).

    Hm, how can people lvl50, that have done their story at least, have a bunch of lvl20-30 gear? Maybe an accessory or two...but the rest o.O . What is wrong with people?

    Only chest piece is iLevel 55, the other parts are 45, so it would be a bit unfair.

    Even 45 is fine, wearing gear for half your level is outrageous.

    A lower level of skill/knowledge would be allowed if your gear could take some of the pressure off.

    Knowledge/skill does not equal damage/healing. No matter how good you know your class, someone wielding a lvl 20 weapon will do considerably less damage/healing than someone with a 50+ weapon. In some fights, this can be crucial.

    They used FATEs to grind to 50 on their second class.

    Though I completely agree with your statement, I'll still have to say that players with knowledge/skill wouldn't be bringing iLvl 30 gear into a level 50 Hardmode encounter in the first place. So once you see someone being severely undergeared in a fight like this, you can usually safely discard the presumptiom that this player may have excellent knowledge/skill to make for the gear gap.
