New Character Creation

My friend has been trying to get onto Moogle to enjoy this game with myself and my friends since release, he has been playing on a different server in the hope that he might be able to transfer at a later date, but this whole character creation lock is getting a little silly now. Surely SE should realise you only get so many second chances before people stop wanting to play your games :\

Im worried that they only allow transfer to servers of their choice like some mmos do, this is why I am afraid of just starting somewhere else and transferring later
So it means no crowded servers like moogle or behemoth

Tell me about it... I'm just happy that they labelled the servers EU and NA. At least then I won't have to transfer if they introduce an EU data centre.

I'm currently tired of the servers never reflecting the News. at 11:00 am pdt they "updated" the character creation restriction lists. But in-game, is another story entirely. I've been waiting for days to get onto Balmung, it says creation is allowed on Balmung right now. But at character creation, it says the opposite. It's really frustrating. I bought the game a week ago, and have yet to be able to play on the server i want, for any time longer then an hour.

Problem is that people are making all 8 characters on the same server which is congesting the servers. I understand they pay to be allowed to do this but because they are doing this it is preventing all others from making characters on that server. Personally I think they should have only allowed one on each server, maybe 2. That would lighten the load on the servers, allow more to play with their friends, and people would only have to pay the 13 bucks a month that those who can make 1 pay. Now I understand there are some people that are going to flame this post of mine because they dont agree and a majority are going to be the ones I like to call "Server Hogs" and dont care about the other people wanting to play on a server with their friends. This is their opinion and their choice and regardless who agrees with it, it does not matter. Lets just hope the servers get a boost LARGE enough to compensate these individuals and allow us to actually play with our friends.

Having multiple characters on the same server doesn't really cause congestion. Unless you're logged in on all 8 characters at the same time, which I don't believe is possible, then each character merely takes up storage space. The congestion is caused by high population. I have trouble believing that everyone is congested around the starting area, and it's also hard to believe that the server is at its maximum capacity at 2 in the morning. It must be awful trying to play during peak hours if the slowest hours are still full capacity.

I really just wish SE would give some kind of comment on the matter.

Can I create a character somewhere else and get a free migration later?

Can I get an extra week beyond the free week already given to us because I still can't play for their own sever instability?

Can I get an estimated time of availability for when these servers will be allowing character creation?

I'm expecting a 'No' for the first two, but because there is absolutely no comment on any of these questions, I'm just sitting around twiddling my thumbs on the forums...

Dont make any sense
Character info is stored in data banks, they dont transmit data to the server unless logged in , if that happened it would be quite useless and inefficient
If idle logged off characters transmitted such info WoW servers would need a small town in terms of space

Their argument of locking up character creation is quite weak tho, there are not even queues anymore most of the time in most servers, they are only stopping the income of new people
