Just an example.

On the other hand, the fear in XI was that when you left the game for a time it seems some of your character data would become erased, your items would be missing, sometimes your mules would not event be recoverable. Unfortunately this is a great concern. Say if something happens in life and you return 6 months later and your items are gone. This is not always due to a hack but the data storage system that XI had. I am not sure if there would be concerns for this in the future of this game but it is certainly one that many of my friends are aware of from it predecessor.

What Dragonhaven and Shika have noted are sadly what the majority of the player base see. I am hoping someone does address this and I will continue to post in this thread to hopefully see this be addressed.
I agree with the limits on restorations. If one is too harsh, at least setting a overall limit would help to remind players that they are responsible for their actions

As for the data being lost, thats a new one to me. I would think your characters would stay as they were when you left them so long as nobody accessed your account. If there is a loss of data after a certain period of inactivity I think that should be changed. Things do come up in life, and many people (me and my friends included) sometimes take breaks from games for personal reasons. I see no reason you should be penalized for that.

*EDIT*

Then again, I dont know very much about programming and all of that. I guess if theres a valid reason then its something we would need to deal with, just seems like it would be an easy thing to get around considering other games like wow and rift dont seem to have that problem.
