    samb0nz,

I just got my copy of the game yesterday. I really want to thank you for taking the time to put these videos together, they've really helped take some of the intimidation factor out of my first few hours of the game. I'll probably watch some of your Guild Wars videos too!

I have to tell you that my husband watches lots of your Let's Play's, and absolutely loves them. We play on Wutai, so it was so cool to hear that you were playing here also. We play Rift as well, and have been watching your video's on that one also. We appreciate how upbeat and informative your Let's Play's are. Hopefully we'll run into you some day!

Tell Tallahasee hi for us.. hehehe!

New episode posted: Let's Play Final Fantasy XIV - Part 17 - Battlecraft Bikini

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RrGdtLAHww
Part 17 of my 'Let's Play' gameplay and commentary in the MMO, Final Fantasy XIV, by Square Enix.

In this episode we get back to the combat, taking some Battlecraft Levequests from the Adventurers guild, but not before we stop by a special NPC that's set up in the city under a bunch of balloons. The Firefall Faire has rolled into town, and with it comes a quest to perform, but more importantly so too come swimming costumes! We try ours on for size briefly before heading out into the Thanalan desert to deal with some Nutbiter Marmots and some Spriggans..

First found your let's play videos on the Rift forums, and now here. Have to say the ones I have watched are of very good quality and have been full of a lot of good information for new players. While not a new player myself, never know when you will find something you have overlooked that will make your life easier.

And it is good to see comments of people that are willing to give the game a chance because of your videos, as FFXIV did have a rather rocky start, and your helping people get over the old impressions.

    Keep up the good work.

I think SE should have a view of these if they have not already! This type of information is not just informative but fun! I also agree with Hawklaser. SE could use this to maybe help attract some old players still on the fence to rejoin and help those influenced by critics.

    Amazing work! Thank you. /kneel

Been watching a few more, as enjoying seeing the Ul'Dah story, as am a Gridanian myself. And pronouncing the names can always be fun in this game.

Though just a comment on gathering, based on my experiences with mining and botany. The first selection has been said to have an effect on what kind of items can be obtained, though I don't know quite how it effects the items obtained. The second part is a hot and cold game. Each comes up with their own method for this part, but in order to successfully get items more frequently one needs to narrow down the possible locations for the hot and cold mini game quickly. Until one gets a descent method for doing so it can seem somewhat random. The you are closer/farther ones is relative to your last attempt, much closer means you are on the fringe of where the item is, when you get very close to the item you make progress towards getting the item, some do need multiple successes. You get XP and SP whether you get an item or not, but you do get significantly more when you do get an item.

The same XP and SP gains apply to crafting as well, but that system is no where near as easy to explain in typing.

Edit: Noticed some confusion regarding the leves as well. First the pictures, they represent different sub-categories of leves within the larger types of battle, field, faction, and local leves. This only makes a difference when you exchange old leves for new ones. You may have noticed when you exchange old leves for new ones, the old leves have a number and star on the right side of the exchange menu. Now what this number and a star means is degree of difference from the new leve. By exchanging the more different leves, you improve the rewards of the new one and can add more than one leve for a new one to further enhance the new one. Some things that make a leve different is the picture which represents the sub-type of the leve, and also where you got a leve from.
