Canceled Relic Quest - Restarts From Beginning!

Steps:

Was clearing Leves I had no intention of doing, accidentally canceled "A Relic Reborn (Veil of Wiyu)". Went back to go get it, it started me FROM THE BEGINNING! Those mats cost 100k+ Gil and there's no way to get Gil within the game at level 50.

I still have the item after killing Chimera, Amdapor Keep, and the Sylphs, but it's still making me start from the beginning. If this is "Working as intended" it's completely backgrounds and not done properly "Working as intended" is just an excuse for poor game design.

I still have this "Unfinished Veil of Wiyu".

GMs in-game are not responding, customer support is not responding, this an extremely serious issue.

I dunno, I think it's kinda obvious that if you cancel quest, you start from the very beginning.
You can hardly call this a bug or poor design.
And no, getting 100k on lvl 50 is not impossible, you just might not know how

As I never had to abandon a quest yet, I can't verify myself, but don't you have to confirm that you really want to abandon a quest after clicking abandon?
Sorry to say, but likely you'll have to start over. Asking for a character rollback because you screwed up is a little much. Had the screwup been on SE's part, say, suddenly cancelling your quests without notice, there might be a case for rollback.

I dunno, I think it's kinda obvious that if you cancel quest, you start from the very beginning.

Obvious is that you get a quest, abandon this means you restart THAT quest (if you are killing 20/24 monsters and abandon, you would need to kill all 24 again).
The bug/poor design is when you get a quest, abandon this and restarts al whole chain quest.
And a GREAT bug/poor design is when you finnish the quest, and the next quest is the first one you have finnished DAYS AGO (and you can prove it with the lodestone armory log with your unfinished weapon)

My understanding of the design was:

I speak to relic NPC and accept the quest on my Black Mage (thinking I'm on White Mage). At some point early on, switch back to White Mage, run around, doing the quests and get up to the step where I've invested in item with the double meld and wondered why I can't equip it, then realize, oh shoot, I can't switch unless I cancel. I do not want to finish this out on black mage, so I cancel, and restart the whole series again on White Mage.

That and the quest is repeatable. As unfortunate as it is in the above posters, this works in a favor of the aforementioned scenario where you accept it on a job you don't want the relic for (yet) or change your mind before you get too heavy into the quests. But does not favor accidentally removing the quest deep into the quest line. Both are mistakes and both have confirmation windows, but as you've indicated, you lose more time and resources when the mistake happens later.

Though no consolation, my recommendation on the gil front is to run the Wanderer's Palace to acquire some of the Bloody weapon pieces and try to auction those off in addition to spiritbonding some of your equipment (the iLevel 48-49 accessories) to turn toward the materia that people are seeking most. And/or befriend shellmates, Free Company, or crafters that may be able to work with you on this for less than what you pay on the markets (but still maybe needing to pay and/or provide equivalent exchange).

No its not !!! Its many quests, not a single one ! SO EXPLAIN ME WHY I MUST GO BACK TO THE FIRST ONE ??? Havent seen that in any others mmos !
AND YES 100K IS REALLY HARD, I dont see why I would farm 1 month because of a bug, while not a single MJ care about us.
