I don't think kiting should be the solution to everything, but it should take skill and it should be used in at least a few fights. Fights where if the mob catches your kiter you get blown up and everything falls apart.i said this elsewhere, but kiting in a limited amount is interesting, but the mechanics should make it an actual skill based situation, your max running space, and your enemies skills should make it an actual fight, not an auto win once you understand the basics of kiting.
otherwise they need to give melee a similar skill based tactic that allows them to beat almost anything regardless how powerful it is.
they with monster specific kiting limits, and more mixed mob groups, you could still get some kiting in game without making it the super answer
