Unable to pick up quest as NPC in non accessible area

after completing stone vigil level 41 quest and flying back to Gridania on Cid's airship i was too low to pick up the follow up quest as it required level 42 so i left the area and did some more hunting log to level up

problem is it is now not possible to get back to the airship dock to pick the level 42 quest up.

PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO TALK TO THE AIRSHIP TICKET NPC!

this does not work as i do not have the quest if i talk to the Ticket NPC and buy i ticket i do not get onto the airship platform i get a lovely cutscene of my character getting on the airship and landing in the either Uldah or Limsa Lominsa flying back to gridania also does not get me onto the platform with Cid and the other NPC who has my quest are standing.

The support desk in game gave me a lovely reply saying they cannot help with quests or gameplay despite the fact this is a huge bug preventing me from carrying on the story quest

Talk to the Airship Ticket NPC.

Seriously though. That's what you have to do. When I talked to the guy earlier today I wasn't even given an option to go to another city. All he said to me was something along the lines of "go to your airship". But I have heard of others with the same problem as you.

I did not have the quest either at the time and I could talk to the NPC. Though it was before the patch. Maybe it broke?

It seems to be working again now no idea what changed
