    Easy Fix for Economy and increase GC activity

    The Issues:
    • Money is only generated from quests
    • Quests are limited
    • Repairs and Teleport take out money from economy

    One may argue that crafting generates money. People need money to buy items. Currently the amount of money being generated to trade is lower then the money sinks. In time people will not have money to buy items from market place or pay crafters for their items.
    • Grand Company Seals are useless
    • No initiative to do Grand Company Leves

    One may argue you need seal for gear and ranks. Fate grind from 40ish-50 is enough seals to get max rank GC weapon and even chocobo barding with some jewellery. At 50 there is no reason to farm seals except for maybe wanting 20k seals minion. I have yet to see anyone doing any Grand Company Leves or quests.


    So what can be done? Quite simple. Add Allagan pieces to GC Quartermasters. People will be able to buy Allagan pieces with seals to generate money into economy. However, one should make these allagan pieces expensive so they will not generate too much money. Example is 5k-8k seals for 1 Allagan Gold Piece which is only buyable at max rank.

    The problem with this idea is that it pre-assumes that by the time someone has gotten to the point where gil starts being a problem, they're max rank with their GC. While this is indeed an easy fix that will mitigate some of the problem, it's not a good fix.

    A much better fix would be to add Dark Matter to harvesting nodes, for instance. It would still require crafting or finding a friendly crafter to repair your gear, but it wouldn't have the ultimately crippling repair costs associated, which are the majority of the problem. It's fairly easy to earn enough money to handle teleports and random expenses.

    An even better fix would be to increase the gil awarded from FATEs, since even adding Dark Matter would only stabilize income vs. expenditure, not provide a surplus. And without a surplus the game's economy will rapidly die, since without solvency items can't move.

    It's strange, every argument I hear in game for all the pitfalls of the economy is 'to prevent gil selling' and yet, every day I log in and have to blacklist a new gil seller.

    I can't mail gear/crafting materials/wait...ANYTHING to my other toons, but some schmoe who wants to gil sell can post a bunch of ash lumber on the market at prices above the suppliers and capitalize on the people who don't realize they can get it from the supplier? Ouch SE, ouch.

    The surplus point is right on. I can't buy off market if I can only maintain enough gil to teleport/repair.

    FATEs are already a problem in that their rewards for experience, gil, and seals altogether are just way too enticing. This would only encourage more FATE grinding.

    Better fixes would be to:
    -lower repair costs. This way the economy won't have a shortage in the amount of gil generated/sinked, and at the same time won't increase the rate of inflation.
    -lower teleport costs. Same reasoning as above.
    -Increase gil from daily quests. This will generated more gil (however will contribute to inflation), but it will give people an alternative to FATE grinding. That way people will do FATEs for leveling or seals, but dailies for gil.
    -increase gil drops from mobs. Again, this will contribute to inflation, however if mobs have increased gil drops then the rate at which gil is generated will be more smoothed at a constant pace that will help everyone inherently.

    A few solutions would be being able to exchange seals for gil. Being able to vendor grind gear for decent money, or like some said, increase the leve requirement. People go "Crafting/gathering fixes it" Fixes it how? It doesn't between taxation and undercutting. Right now in my current state, being max ranked with my GC and in my current gear, seals and fates literally do nothing for me but give me a repair bill, because 100gil for getting gold isn't worth it. I'm past the point where any gc gear does me any good.

    5k for one gold piece? in my current gill, i'd probably lose more than 2500 farming 5k when a 50 fate gives 200 seals.

    Please add money generated from crafting leves. There are several that with 100 leves you would make over 300k. All brand new untaxed money... This amount alone should cover your teleport and repair bills for the month.... 100 leves is 17 days x 8 char.

    So lets simplify this. 300k x 8 = 2.4 mil per 17 days... Is that enough?

    That sounds great and all, except for the fact that you need to level the battle class up for every single one of those characters also(to unlock the leve location(s)). Yeah great, more money bags, but uh yeah.. I dont want to level up 7 more seperate characters to 50.

    Are you including the costs to acquire the materials needed to make the Leve into your calculation?

    If you are please forward them so i can spam that...Currently, at-least for me, I am basically converting gil to exp cause I end up loosing more gil buying/crafting/gathering the materials than the reward offers.
