massive server queue's a good thing?

    Hello everyone,

Recently Square increased the server capacity of every server by quite a bit, hereby they decreased the queuing for the majority of the time.
However this did come at a great price, since so many people can now log onto a server at the same time, the majority of the zones are overly crowded, fate quests become quite literally a Spam festival of Blizzards and what not other Aoe skills.

Since fate quests are one of the major ways to level up its not surprising that an average of 20 to 30 people are rushing there to nuke the poor bastards. It surprises me that the next ice age hasn't started yet due to the number of blizzard spamming.
Not to mention when an boss spawns you barely have 2minutes to reach it, any second later and you miss out of even the bronze metal.

For me this game has been quite an enjoyable experience when the game launched, the number of people able to login on the server were good. Not to many to make it spammy and not to little to be unable to finish a fate quest.

Every zone at the moment has an average of 50 to easily 100 players crowding the area, this has had quite an negative impact for me and i wont be surprised a lot of other people as well they are unable to fully enjoy the game due to the load of players.

Before people had to dedicate a portion of their time to login making sure mostly actual hardcore and dedicated gamers were able to jump on the servers.
Now every child, brat and uncle with an laptop or console can jump onto the game and start crowding every corner of the world with their bullshit.

Yes I'm sorry to say the major queuing was to me, a great blessing.

However not all things are bad, there are still solutions to this problem of overpopulation this game currently is facing.

The first and the easiest one which doesn't directly affect the happiness of players and makes them still play the game so easily. Is of course adding channels to every server, maybe just one or two which will certainly be enough.
    adding Channels.
Adding channels to each server will make sure the areas wont be overly crowded at any time. In fact you can easily keep the current server size.
Sure, there might be an issue where people will switch between Channels to do fates quicker. But then you can just make it so that people cannot change channels unless they go to one of the major towns.

Another solution will be to change the servers back to their original size. This will however and surely Piss a lot of players off.
    Shrinking servers
Shrinking servers is possibly the worst idea to do, simply cause a lot of players including me, do not wish to restart their character all over again.
The problem however if you give an free character transfer that the high level players jump onto this, giving them a Huge advantage over the people on that server.

The last solution i know of course is simply to wait it all out.
Eventually the hype of this game will run out and people will run off to their WoW or Guildwars or whatever forsaken hype train that comes out. Most likely Elders scrolls online. No surprise there really.
    Waiting it out
Just waiting out the Hype of the game is the easiest and cheapest solution.
However this will make the game less enjoyable due to the huge amount of players currently manifesting their plots and offspring's till eventually every corner of a server is stuffed with so many players that even the gods themselves considers to abandon the game entirely.
Of course I'm joking on the last part, what i mean to say is that the enjoyment of playing this game will easily be diminished by the flood of players.
People will most likely play the first 30 days of the game and never buy a subscription again. This will also reduce the load of players but by how much in fact? We cannot know until the first months pass.

I would love to know everyone's opinion about this.
Do you think the servers are fine as they are now?
Do you maybe think we should revert or just wait it out?

Or do you have an other solution to solve the crowd problem we currently have on every server. From Legacy to Moogle, i do not believe this is an issue with only one server.

PS: I'm very sorry for my terrible jokes and accent.

I simply don't see the issue. Populous servers are better than unpopulated ones by far, as we'll see the player economy really emerge, and stabilize faster. I haven't seen quite the crowds you seem to be seeing except for right outside Swiftperch. My suggestion would be waiting a few days and then coming back, as the waves of players level up, they'll move on, and you'll be free to fate to your heart's content.

But the high rank zones are also experiencing this massive crowd of people. the fact so many are online will even make rendering of characters and objects way slower then it should be >,<

First people complain that the server needs to be able to handle the extra load, now that there's extra load people are complaining that there are too many people playing... Just have fun and enjoy the game, take it from someone who was into Rift at it's launch; this isn't unusual. You're part of the first wave of players so you're gonna run into many many many people chewing their way through fates and it looks like a storm now but it'll smooth itself out.

I haven't encountered framerate problems at all. I typically run upper 40's. No matter if that's in a crowded town or out in the middle of a mass of toons and mobs in a major fate battle.
