Gold Farming

Can someone at SE please get a hold of this gold farming? It's worse than any mmo i've ever seen. Reporting it in game seems to have no effect. FFS you took the time to remake this game again and you can't get this locked down? Do you think people enjoy the time sink of filling out a report every time? At least put an option to block/report on the chat screen!!!! Keeping the farmers out should not be this difficult, it's from a lack of effort.

I think they have had more important things to do for the last while, such as, allowing paying customers to play the game, the fixes where only put in place yesterday with some bugs still to work out, they'll get to it, give them time...

agreed. ANY MMO released should have a report button that is accessible to file an automatic report from a drop down menu AND a block feature as you mentioned. I don't know why they dont implement an auto ban system. if an account gets , just as example, 250 reports of "gold farming" or chat spamming then the account is auto banned and the account holder has to call CS to get account unbanned.

either way implementing at least something and having someone reviewing the reports and taking actions is needed. I can say as well i have seen multiple blatant advertising in game chat and i haven't found a way to deal with it as in blocking them...

The CS team that would deal with the reports and IT and development team dealing with the server issues are 2 separate entities and not related in their Jobs and both teams can deal with their issues without interfering with each other.

Bots, and gold farmers are a plague on the MMO gaming industry. More effort needs to be made by all companies that have virtual currencies to prevent it as much as possible. All MMO economies become influenced by bots and gold farmers in a matter of days after the game launches, and that is a very sad thing. I cant wait until anti-bot/anti-gold farming is a standard feature in modern MMO's.

This is part of the problem though. Servers are congested and overpopulated, and the gold farmers are on there adding to the congestion.

I saw one of them last night in Ul'dah (Hyperion) spamming as if there's no tomorrow. I filled the report form (very tedious, btw) but hours later he was still there. So, yep! implement a report buttom, please! (and more GM participation if you can).

They should not allow such activities, since they affect the game's economy and you're risking your personal information when you buy gil from those websites. Also, they use hacked accounts from users in order to run their business.

Edit: They kill my in-game experience and one of the main reasons I quit GW2 was the lack of control about this kind of issues.

Just do what Rift and EVE do, allow users to sell time card codes for in-game currency. Next to no gold sellers there due to there being no business for them.

Just for the sake of accuracy, the currency is "gil" not "gold".
