When you see someones glamour with non matching boots
Thank you !! Great answer. I don't want Final Fantasy to turn into another mash bash mmorpg. GCD is fine as it is.

Sometimes, in the dungeon, there happens to be a funny moment when everyone's GCD syncs and there is a gap where nothing happens and everyone is waiting. Mood-killer.

Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.

I'm enjoying the current pace, as a CNJ/WHM and as a ACN. My fingers don't bleed trying to push a million buttons in the span of two seconds, I can effectively do things without needing macros to do things for me, and I'm always doing *something* at least in Brayflox and Haukke Manor.
It's not too fast to where I would feel I may need to utilize macros to be efficient, but it's not too slow to where I'm feeling bored and staring at the ceiling.

The combat speed is fine -- with how hectic some battles can get with regards to targeting, among other things, making the game any faster would just make it needlessly stressful.
What's the point of a GCD anyway?
I agree with the OP either shorten it or remove it.

Well, I can say as a DPS that would be a nightmare. I already run out of TP as it is on Monk due to my GCD being lowered to 2 seconds by Greased Lightning III + skill speed stacking. Completely removing GCD would be horrendous lol.
They can always adjust some things accordingly for classes.
To me as a healer, it's awful. I'll have to debuff, which the cast speed for that is way shorter than the global cool down. Then I'll have to wait to be able to heal whoever when they need healing asap. Or if I need to cast regan on someone and cure on another. Meh, I've never played a game with a global cool down. Don't really see the point in one.
That is how XIV works though, they're not going to re-write the battle engine to work like other games, this is the battle engine of XIV...
Not to beat a dead horse, but if you want the battles to work like X other game then why not just play that game?
Unless SE are open to changing the whole games battle engine, if so, Devil May Cry style please <3.
