Your quote is ftw. When I saw "I wanna go fast" it reminded me of sonic the hedgehog
When you see someones glamour with non matching boots
2.5 sec is really fine, the problem I see with this game is that animation cooldowns. You can't activate instant ability instantly, if you just used another skill, your instan't won't go off for 1sec and after it does the effect applies after 0.5 sec more. So in fact all "instant off gcd" skills happen after a 1-1.5sec delay and that is BS.
Something does not feel right with your game: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/86836-The-Navel-(Hard)-plume-animation-damage-impact-out-of-sync http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/71728-The-problem-with-Instant-OFF-GCD-abilities-makes-combat-feel-less-rewarding http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/91388-Silence-not-taking-effect-even-though-it-is-used-before-enemy-finishes-the-casting http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/86887-Unable-to-activate-skills-even-though-UI-displays-them-as-available-for-use
I'd personally love to see a lower GCD. 2.5 is a pretty long wait.
It's bearable, but it's a pain for tanks and healers. Tanks have to establish threat fairly quickly on the entire trash pull, while maintaining full aggro on the main target.
Heals have to make some quick decisions for certain things, and 2.5 seconds limits them quite a bit. Somebody mentioned exactly what I was thinking. Debuffs go out while the tank is taking damage; it's somewhat hectic trying to dispel all the debuffs while keeping the tank alive. There's some cases where the tank is basically almost dead within 2.5 seconds, then I have to basically just let a DPS die instead of the tank.
So a lower GCD on specific things like dispels would be good. Or just an overall lower GCD.
everytime i see a topic like this i wonder if any of these people have played pug/mnk.....
I would not like a shorter GCD. I play Warrior and Monk and the pace has been fine for me.
I would like to see potions have a cool down of 5 years instead of 10 years![]()
I'd want it increased, how does 5 or 7 seconds sound?
agree completely coming as a legacy player too. And those who seriously dont like it you can always go back to wow.Too slow? People are complaining just for the sake of complaining now? The Combat is fine. The 1.0 was slow, but 2.0 speed it up a lot. The way I see it is now the other way around. It was so fast that they take out the Skill Chain because skill now execute a lot faster.
You need to play your Class better and have the right skill Rotation. Rift, WoW is slower, go back there and play it if you don't believe me. Wow just seam faster because class have a gazillion skills to spam. Any faster we will turn Final Fantasy game into active combat, I for once agree with the producer saying this game is not to be real action combat and it doesn't work well with Final Fantasy.
I like it the way it is, so yeah don't speak for us.
Seriously though lol. There are time's GL is up and it feels like "oh crap oh crap oh crap!" haha. Never a dull moment. Lot of fun.Trust me, when you'll get to end-game, you'll thank god you actually have a 2.5 GCD. Also, tried playing a MRD ? Mine is only lvl 18 and I mash buttons like crazy.
In this game, you actually need to pay attention to what's happening. I've been playing MMOs for more than 10 years. I know exactly what you mean by "a shorter GCD". I was actually like you when I first started playing. But then, I started leveling, I gave the game a chance. And I've been very surprised !
And if you want shorter GCD, just roll a PGL/MNK. You will mash buttons.
Combat's fine.
Yup, you try playing a Monk and keep up GL with any kind of movement in the fight. You won't give two shits about GCD then, all you'll be worried about are those GL stacks.
Also, not to mention with all the movement monks do, the increase in the GCD makes it pretty rough to be flank/behind as your GCD comes up, espically on bigger mobs while avoiding shit without breaking your dps or missing a GCD. If your tank is moving around you can pretty much kiss your chance of doing full damage goodbye.
So yeah at 50 I'd say depending on class the GCD is really the least of your worries.
