When is SquareEnix going to start making the game?

I think they have the engine developer team separate from other sections

real problem might be their first concept 'try to be different' and failed, so Tanaka has to took responsible

It's not speculation, they stated the White Engine/Crystal Tools engine was the longest development time due to FFXIII's move from the PS2 to the PS3. The WE/CT engine is a cinematic/seamless engine which in XIV's case, it's ONLY because they refused to build off of FFXI instead of taking what work and ran with it.

I had already read interviews, previews, etc., online prior to the game's release. I had anticipated it being another WoW-clone like so many other mmorpgs based on that. That's enough of a reason for me NOT to buy it.

My only reason for getting the game was Hiromichi Tanaka who was producer of the game as written on the box and visible on the website. That no longer applies, and the entire game is being redesigned by Yoshida (who is letting the players design it now). Or did you miss that part of my post entirely on purpose?

I think they changed leadership of the ff14 for a reason. A reason that you probably could have found out by reading up on FF14 before you bought the game. However, should you have purchased the game and then after you bought it the change in leadership occurred, I think you're aware of the "reason" there was a change in leadership. If not, please go back to step one which is reading up on the SquareEnix released information. You can probably find it on any of the FF14 fan websites...

Either way, you are aware of the change and displeased with it. Is that correct?

And you dislike having the players assist in designing the game, correct?

I think you would be better off playing a single player console game as opposed to a MMORPG.

"They" didnt get rid of Tanaka, he stepped down. "Hiromichi Tanaka has resigned from his post as producer of the game and will be replaced by Naoki Yoshida with immediate effect." Even though Tanaka said this "First of all, I would like to apologize for our inability to fully satisfy our users with the initial release of Final Fantasy XIV," said Tanaka in a statement to players. The only reason the game was released early was because Wata or w/e Tanaka's bosses name was made the game releace early to meet SE's quarterly projections which gave him a $3,000,000 bonus.

The average person playing FF14 right now/just bought the game and trolls the forums all day should have no input, most of you know nothing of game design and consider what WoW is as an actual MMO, they need to start calling them something elce because they do not deserve the title.

All of the people asking for massive amounts of solo content are the ones who need to go play a single player console game, sadly the actual MMO genre seems to be dieing, its title of MMO should die with it, i would love to see the percent of you who could survive FF7.

What could they have possibly said to justify making you blindly jump in to the game without even looking at the reviews it got, essentially being the best example of a customer who got what he deserved by not informing himself on the purchase he was about to make?

75 bucks got you the game and a free month. That price included nothing else, which should be obvious. And as far as you are concerned, whatever happens after that free month is absolutely none of your business. If you wanted to play longer, you could, but you were by no means forced to do so. You are already long past the cost of the purchase, so deal with the fact that you made a poor choice as an uninformed customer and stop following and playing this game or keep playing until you are no longer entertained. You have no obligations- surely you are aware of at least that?

I like that they take our suggestions, but the most happy i got was when they were like "auto attack coming, deal with it", not saying i like auto attack, but I would like them to just do stuff without asking us a little more , i hate to say it like this ...but..."show us you have some stones!" cojones, w/e you call them. People will say "well they did that and this game sucks', no they did that, and the vision wasn't finished, and we still haven't gotten a finished game. Let people finish their vision before we nitpick them on the stupidest crap.

I agree with what the OP say Hiromichi Tanaka idea for this game would have been great he just needed time. don't go on saying he made the game fail blah blah blah i just don't care. Yoshi-p making this into wow and you all know it, how is anything he added a real final fantasy game by any means? Dungeon/raids? really don't matter how much you make into a Final fantasy dungeon/raid it still called a dam dungeon name it something else. He even changing the idea of Hamlet Defense like really come on.

Most of us read every interview follow this game and got no sleep seeing interview and E3,Gamescom and every event to find info on this becuase what tanaka said was awesome.

So from a person who been following on this game sense E3 where is everything you told us ? What happen to companies linkshell? where we going to have a linkshell building and airship? is that out of the question now Yoshi-p?

Once again to even Quote me this is my though about the game and i don't care what you think about my post it's just what i feel i want tanaka version not a version that wow players would join at the end there just going back to wow or blizzard new game and at the end FFXIV going to have it's real fan but maybe not even that if they just make it for wow fans.

Because it's just so easy to do that. Why didn't the devs think of that? Just say it and it's done, of course! How foolish we've been!

You do realize they ARE rebuilding a lot of the core mechanics as far as combat goes right?


SE robbed no one. There was an open beta. If you were skeptical you could have waited for the reviews. You could have gotten a buddy pass from someone. You could have waited.

I didn't like the game at launch but I've never felt robbed or cheated. I simply got over it and quit for a few months. If you don't like the direction the game is going in you may want to quit before they start charging, so they don't "steal" any more money from you.
