Requesting a Meld

Is this 100% safe? I don't actually physically give the item to the other player right?

You're not giving them the items. The catalyst and materia will be used in the process, but there is no way for them to take the armor/weapon.

As Ardbob said, the items never leave your inventory. If you need to know how to do it, you just right click or hit square while targeting whatever crafter person is going to do the melding for you, get request meld, then pick the item and materia. You must have the catalyst as well, and as a courtesy you can give them a tip.
