Question about Veteran Reward

I was going to get a 30 day sub, but saw that I could get veteran rewards if I do 30 days.

Do I have to get the sub for 8 chars per server, or can I get the cheaper 1 char per server and still qualify?

Please only answer if you know for sure.

Here is the deal.
The veteran rewards are solely based on time played/paid for. You do not have to get the standard...it will work with the cheaper version.
The problem with the cheaper package is that you can only sign up and renew 1 month at a time. If you are paying for the STANDARD you can then pay up front for up to 180 days and by doing this you get all the rewards as soon as you pay. So if you do the cheaper version you just haved to wait 180 to get all the stuff whereas someone who pays up front will get it all now or when they charge your credit card which will be after all the FREE PLAY time is over.

Veteran Rewards are special in game item bonuses awarded based on how long you have had an active subscription. These rewards will be distributed via the moogle delivery service once you have reached a certain number of days subscribed.

Veteran Rewards are granted based on the number of days subscribed rather than time played. For example, a player who subscribes for 90 days is eligible to receive the 30, 60, and 90 day Veteran Rewards all on their first day.

I don't think this has to do with time played at all!
