Didn't Tanaka specifically say in one of his old interviews that they knew that the Market Ward system was an inconvenience to players and they did it anyway? I think that pretty much sums up what got FFXIV into the situation it is in now. I'll try and see if I can find the article later.

Basically they tried to combat RMT activities and deflation/inflation with the new system. All they needed to do was implement the same AH feature without the price history and they would've solved their problem. Or perhaps if they actually had more active GMs to take care of RMT. It wasn't the AH that destroyed the economy in FFXI for so long, it was merely a tool used by RMT. SE let the Gilseller issue grow out of hand by taking too long to actually address it and act upon it. Which could easily be countered by being more active with disciplining and banning accounts.

The only thing that makes an Auction house an Auction House is Blind Bidding or timed Bidding. If they implemented all of the Features of an auction house besides those it would still never be an auction house as there is no auction.

So far they've done all that. The only feature that people still really want is instant delivery so give that to them with a huge tax for doing it.

We do not need Blind or Timed Bidding. Which means we don't need an Auction house.

Those who are STILL clamoring for an AH at this point are doing so simply because they don't want to use another system, rather than any actual valid reason.

Really? Because I could have sworn I stated quite clearly that I do have a valid and legitimate reason. I might not agree with some of you about what is the best system for commerce, but I hate it when people show that they have either no reading comprehension or no ability to retain that information or flat out falsify the facts. If you are happy with the current system, then goody for you. I however am not, and it has nothing to do with how good or bad the current system is in its opperation nor does it have anything to do with an unwillingness to conform to a new system.

Thats it. End of thought. Do not try to twist what I am saying or flasify information in your favor. Do not add to this statement. I promise you this is the only problem I have with the current system, and I don't have some kind of ridiculous or sinister motive.

I do agree with you about the buy orders and repair orders, but I thought we could reach some kind of compromise? Yes, I know that the devs have more important things to work out, but eventually I would like an AH. If nothing else do what others have suggested and put in the ability to buy and sell (only if you have a retainer available) from the search npc outside the wards. It could even have a tax. I would be prefectly willing to pay a 6%-8% tax. Is that too much of me to ask? Can we not have some form of compromise for lovers of MW and AH systems?

Adding those doesn't make an Auction House Though. Please stop using the blanket Term "Auction House" for a bazaar system that has convenience.

If it doesn't have Blind or Time Bidding then its not an auction house. Just implement the convenience changes to the Market Wards.

They are really scared of RMT, so scared, that they made gil completely pointless and worthless in this game. There's a lot of things they're scared of(astral burns, RMT, kiting, people soloing nms by kiting) that they went to extreme measures to take GOOD things out of the game.

Mobs leash system is a good example of this, it's completely retarded and makes kiting impossible, taking away a lot of skill from playing a mage :/

I could care less about Blind or Time Bidding, the only thing I want is convenience. I have very short amounts of time to play, and when I do I want to make the most use of my time. So anything that will help me to use my limited time more efficiently is most welcome. This game is supposed to be casual friendly. The leves , class changing, and travel times are. So why arent crafting/gathering/MW?

For Crafting and Gathering those are actual classes that grants you bonuses for leveling them so They take the same effort as leveling a combat class.

Market wards work perfectly fine for the time being, it's not something that really needs focus at this moment in time. You can search for items just as well as any AH and take a few moment to hobble your virtual legs over to it.

Lets focus on what needs fixed before we focus on what needs tweaks.

Market wards crash often and no price history is an annoyance, but i agree its not important enough to worry about it now instead of say the battle system & class additions thoes are needed now! i can work with the wards there not that bad

Dude no matter what if have anything to say about this game needed to be changed you will see the same 4-5 ppl attacking you learn thoes names and put them on the ignor list then you should get good discussions key to knowing the XIV extremist that always attack anyone that would like to voice an opinion is if you see their post count and its 500-2000 thats them.
I would like to see an ah/player housing/mail system added alot would i think -thoes 4-5 ppl, but... atm i think i rather see other things implemented 1st.
