In FFXIV people are undercutting by an asinine amount opposed to XI's system where people would look up the history and undercut by a small amount. I was selling Pearl Rings for 50k a pop til someone just comes along and undercuts me by 60%. 60 PERCENT!

Thats not Undercutting. You obviously were selling them for too much. if someone can make the item for cheaper and still sell it for a profit, they will.

The problem is, in a game you can't force your product to be superior by added bonuses for buying yours. which is why all MMO's fail.

As soon as someone knows how and can make the item cheaper and faster they will sell it for what ever gives them a profit.

In the Real world iPads are the most expensive MP3 player. Apple doesn't get mad because Sony, Zune, SD, and Phillips sell theirs for less because their product still sells more and has higher quality.

You can't do that so you have to adjust. If someone else can sell the item for a profit lower then you are selling yours then you are overcharging.


As far as WoW's AH, yeah, I appear to have gotten the Mailbox functions confused, It has been over 2 years since I even played the game and even then I rarely used the AH because everything was over priced and the gear dropped from mobs and quests was always better anyway.
