    Go ahead, you dig through that thread if you'd like to see where people stand. I get lame excuses like AH only allows 7 slots! or AH has sales history it'll ruin the economy! as if those are written in blood and can't be changed.

    Yeah, I need to see direct quotes since at most I see people say both systems are similar but the MW are lacking a few features currently that an AH would have.

    I don't want a price history as RMT's can abuse it like they did in FFXI.
    Who said anything about sales history? you're reasoning is just as bland as many other peoples' in favor of the wards. Give me an actual reason to keep the wards and I'll agree with you but there is no real reason. The Wards are boring zombie fests, its a hassle to post stuff up for sale and to buy stuff and they're a time sink every way you look at them, whether that time sink is 5 minutes or 50 minutes is irrelevant. If I can do something in 5 minutes and do that same thing in 30 second I would choose the 30 seconds.

    The AH doesn't have to have sales history, and it can have all the features of the wards but eliminate everything that makes the wards inconvenient, like running from retainer to retainer and warping from ward to ward. The only reasonable argument someone gave for the wards is impulse shopping and even that is not that important, at least not to replace convenience.

    neither the ffxi ah or wow ah was fast. alot of guess work or travel. i check items faster in rollenmart then the ah. and ffxi price history is iffy at best. iv seen items selling @ 5k and i end up paying 20k. Sorry i much rather see the item and price and buy it outright. Only conveince is you just go to the broker or window you dont walk around. also minus the crashes wards were for player to run a shop w/o being loged in. So it would be easier to sell. i find it funny ppl call the wards zombie fests but no complaints in ffxi with afk bazaars.

    uhhh the point of no AH is just game design, now of course, the market wards are virtually the same, so i dont see why you have to have an AH.
    The point behind a MW used to be that players could have an extra game going on, where they act like merchants and find deals, or position them selves well to sell things. etc. One advantage was you could sell things at whatever price you wanted. If it was worth it, or some one was foolish enough, it would sell.

    Now, this isnt exactly the case, but the amount of hassle is minimal, and it gives you a reason to go see peoples retainers, and theoretically you might still actually shop a little bit. Its fairly reduced in terms of a merchanting game, but its way more convienent.

    honestly more convience is not needed. There comes a point where convienence isnt making your game better. Sometimes its better to take a walk around the corner than have food delivered, they decided they want people to actually see retainers, and go to a shopping district, vs mail delivery.
    Its a game design choice, and the extra 1 minute of convience isnt really worth much. Especially since it destroys the last vestige of any sort of markets at all.

    Nice try, but it doesnt have the same meaning anymore. And to be prefectly honest it hasnt since RPGs left Pen and Paper. Thats why they have RP servers in some MMORPGs, instead of every server being filled with RPers. Now I'll admit everyone RPs to a limited degree. I for instance like coming up with a character name and creating my char, but outside of that I am exactly the same on the game as I am in real life. The only "role" I wish to play has to do with role-defined classes: Tank.
