    Duty Finder Times

I am not sure if I am the only one with the issue of trying to join a duty finder that takes well over an hour to join.

There could be a variety of factors:

    1. The exp for doing anything in duty finder is lacking other than to complete it for the first time for the bonus.
    2. There just aren't that many people that are 30+ yet?
    3. Lack of specific classes? - My argument against this is that I am a healer and theoretically as seen in most games, I should get near instant access.

Will SE do something to address this? I am afraid I won't be able to progress my story, I was lucky that when I joined the queue for Titan that it only took 30 minutes. I almost wouldn't mind using my chocobo as a party member as they are sometimes better than some of these people joining duty finder.

    Just my 2 cents.

    1. Well, there is always the gear. And it can be more fun than FATE grinding. :s
    2. Dunno about that.
    3. There are a lot of people playing as scholars too, not just WHMs, which is why the timer could be almost as long as a DD's queue.

Between queues, I work on my DoH classes to pass the time. But that is just me.
What do you suggest they do exactly?

Note that the first-time bonus in dungeons will apply to everyone in the dungeon, as long as one of the party member is a first timer.

I've been tanking dungeons from 15 to 42 and indeed after about level 35, there are times when it takes me 20 minutes to half an hour to get a party. But that's very rare. Most of my queue time are close to less than 3 minutes. For DPS, though, 30 minute and longer queues are the standard.

However there is the "consensus" that after level 30 the best way to rush 50 is to grind FATEs. So it may very well be that there are just less people after level 30 or so.

I would suggest that they implement better exp rewards to make it comparable to FATE farming. I have noticed as I progressed in levels, there seems to be less in the queue, which lead me to believe there just aren't too many people that are 30+.

I took screenshots of my duty finder queue times. When I get back home from work I will post them.

Good point! I hope they do boost the exp, makes sense to encourage more people to use the DF. I've had trouble finding groups for Toto-rak, but I'm just assuming the issue was because I was a DD at the time.

There is an extreme shortages of tanks queing in the duty finder and that's basically because of how the dungeons are accessed... E.g. I'm a level 38 tank, but I only que for a dungeon if I hit one in the story line. I get 10* faster exp fate grinding and doing battle leves/leves/quests than a dungeon. Atm there really just isn't any incentive for me to run a dungeon. Now when the story line can't progress I run one. And of the 15 or so dungeons I've run so far I got an INSTANT, literally instant, que every single time. My FC is like, hey Ryios que with me!!! and we get instant ques. So that also takes effect. Most dungeons I run outside of the main story line I run with my FC and we pick up 1 dps or 1 healer. Sometimes we have a full FC run and don't use the duty finder at all.

Well, it is pretty sad in either case.

In all honesty though, even if they do increase dungeon exp there's still a 75%+ probability that I'll run with my FC and we won't use the duty finder. And if they boosted it just for people using the duty finder there would be no incentive to run guild runs.

No offense, but I don't like running dungeons with complete strangers. I feel the duty finder is a toxic component of a video game. People hit max level and just sit in town crafting and disappear to run a dungeon then reappear when their done. I take this with experience from playing WOW in endgame during WOTLK. It makes the world feel empty and desolate out side of main towns. Because once someone hits 50 they are going to do one of 2 things, 1: craft and run with their FC or duty finder or 2: level another class. Most often it is #2. So if I switch to PUG for example then I'm not tanking at all for days, or a week even.

In my opinion the duty finder is a luxury component of the game. Que up, and go do something else till it pops. Meanwhile ask your FC (if you have one) and shout occasionally. I'd be willing to bet you money (as a healer) if you went to the actual dungeon entrance and said something like "Healer LFG Braylonx Longstep etc" someone would invite you and then you guys could find a tank in less than 10 minutes.
