I personally would like to keep phys level, but the stats should really MEAN.
Like DEX really affecting your accuracy/evasion, and STR really boosting your damage.
At the moment, stats just boost your HP/MP whatsoever. >.> rest is gear dependent.
EXACTLY. In XI when you equipped +2 STR you saw your attack go up by one point. Today I received my +10 STR converter trait and my attack didn't go up at all. I have +10 MND conversions and, thats right, no MP bonus.

I love the physical level by the way. Just offer a second tree for all your disciplines. When im a DoW have one tree of stats thats for STR and VIT. When I go DoM let me have a separate tree with MND and INT. The same for DoH and DoL. Let us be the masters of each discipline.

But then if you're doing that, why not just give each class their own? We don't want ALL DoW clases to want the same stats do we? Lack of customisation is boring.

I'm also in the camp of the ones that would definitely keep physical level, and I don't doubt that the majority of voters that want to remove physical level, are wow players that can't fathom that there can be a system that works equally well or better than wow's.
I'd really wish that the dev team stopped listening to those.

Physical level is there to ensure that progression in a class influences the general progression of the character, instead of having different classes just being the equivalent than logging out and logging in with an alt in wow, plus some extra skills.

I think it's extremely appropriate that people that level multiple classes are stronger physically than people that level just one, at the same level. In the end, after all, when you get to the endgame everything evens out.

Not necessarily. Mages can be healers or Nukers, like MND over INT. DoW can be Tanks or DPS. Stats play a big part if your playing one or the other. Not to mention a craft or a gatherer. You could pick one of each and be good at all disciplines.

I always thought a combination of ffxi and ffxiv systems would work great. Have your rank dictate your base stats for example at rank 10 every MRD will have the exact same base stats with slight variations due to race. So basically your rank give auto-allocated stats. Then have you physical level allow you some bonus points to allocate to your character as you see fit. Say 1 bonus point per every 2 levels.

This would enable those at the highest level to still feel a slight benefit at all stages while also allowing for slight individuality, without leading to situations like inviting THM with full str/dex set ups. Also with most of the stats auto-allocated it should allow them to balance the system rather well. If not they can limit the bonus points to less than 1 per 2 levels until it works.
