    Getting Rid of Physical Level

i understand ppl's frustrations with current point system and switching classes, and how most ppl view attributes as useless, yet even if they made the Physical Level useless, i think it was a good idea to make the characters a little more 2 dimensional rather then once you set your rank that's it. we don't have race effecting our stats anymore (which i love) so we need something to give our characters a little more than set class sheets.

i think they should do point allotment per class but your physical level should determine how many points you can allot. maybe have certain set points they think are MIN REQUIRED for the job and tone down the extra points available

There was few options to chose on the poll..
I personally would like to keep phys level, but the stats should really MEAN.
Like DEX really affecting your accuracy/evasion, and STR really boosting your damage.
At the moment, stats just boost your HP/MP whatsoever. >.> rest is gear dependent.

EXACTLY. In XI when you equipped +2 STR you saw your attack go up by one point. Today I received my +10 STR converter trait and my attack didn't go up at all. I have +10 MND conversions and, thats right, no MP bonus.

I love the physical level by the way. Just offer a second tree for all your disciplines. When im a DoW have one tree of stats thats for STR and VIT. When I go DoM let me have a separate tree with MND and INT. The same for DoH and DoL. Let us be the masters of each discipline.

Big question: why are people against physical level? I thought everyone wanted more uniqueness, not less of it? ...

Because it doesn't add uniqueness, just inconvenience.

I'm conflicted. I kinda liked the idea of Physical level and Job Rank since it reminded me of FF5 and FFT's job systems--you could have Ramza at lvl99 before you started working on your Black Mage, and it felt like the time you put in before gave you a head start in this new job.

That said, having to manually allocate points that carry across all jobs is directly counter to the Armory system's goal of freedom to choose to play what you want whenever. I like playing melee jobs so I put a lot into str/dex, but what if I want to play a mage? I'm screwed because I can only reallocate some of those points at best under the current system.

However, another issue is that despite point allocation giving the illusion of choice, in reality there is always a "right" way to allocate points in games that have this system. I would rather that my character play dependably well then having to check an outside source in order to get the right build to ensure people invite me to things. Similarly, as a party leader I want to know, for instance, that a mage I invite can put some punch behind those nukes, which is far from a guarantee with a point allocation system.

Well, if attributes was fixed rather than deleted (getting rid of physical) maybe it would be some more uniqueness .. uniqueness aint only classes, but what you as a player choose to.

protip : people don't know what he want :P they whine on journal telling where to go because it's retard proof, but don't want experiments with stats because lazy.
Actually i feel fine with the actual sistem, but stat effect need to be more incisive, and maybe save the stat allocated for a particular job

I personally don't like the 'head start' idea, it feels cheap and is pretty much going to cripple the experience for me if we get new jobs further down the line. I like a bit of challenge and the feeling of something being new and fresh, not being capable of personally PLing myself. And it's really not hard currently to make levelling a new job feel so trivial having previously taken 2-3 to level 15-20.

Furthermore, what's the difference between point allotment via PL or via individual classes? PL if anything limits customisation.
