...I don't know if the Bluefin Tuna is already in the game, but I'd like to see this fish listed as an "end game" fish to catch. I know there are Ash Tuna, but I'd like to see Bluefin Tuna. In real life, Bluefin Tuna are monstrous fish. Many people think of Tuna as small fish that are easily caught and placed into a can or packaging and sold at the grocery store.

Wrong! Some Tuna are capable of speeds of 70 km/h (43 mph). These fish can average up to 550 pounds and 6.5 feet (2 meters) in length! The largest tuna ever recorded was an Atlantic bluefin caught off Nova Scotia that weighed 1,496 pounds (679 kilograms).

They can raise their body temperatures to survive in cooler waters, allowing them inhabit a wider range of ocean environments than other types of fish. This means it's possible to have this fish in multiple fishing areas or even just one 'crazy' place to fish, like the ferry between Limsa Lominsa and Thanlan region.

    Did you know?
In January 2001, a prime, 444-lb (201-kg) bluefin tuna sold in a Japanese fish market for $173,600 (¥20.2 million), a world record.

Bluefin Tuna, champions of the sea, should be a catchable saltwater fish in Final Fantasy XIV.

That's the only one I have in mind at the moment. It'll be a bit more difficult for me to name others. Off the top of my head, I'd like to catch goldfish or Koi in the fountains of the main cities. Koi are so beautiful. What about some Tilapia? Tilapia is a freshwater fish that is a popular dish in the united states at restaurant chains.

    1. Bluefin Tuna (Salt Water)
    2. Tilapia (Freshwater)
    3. Koi (In the city fountains.) (I don't know if I want to cook with them... That might be bad karma?)
    4. Goldfish (In the city fountains.)
    5. ...Sea monkeys? lol...

When Bluefin Tuna are implemented I'll fish 'em up 3 at a time! 1500 lbs is nothing for my Rattan Fishing Rod!

ok, so my fish seem to be more like NM fish lol, but here's my list:

    1. Holy Mackerel (Salt Water) - Possible throwing weapon if you count to three before hand. Eating it would give you like +10 to Piety
    2. Trouser Trout, aka Ol' One-Eye (Fresh Water?) - We already got Cock Feathers so why not? :P
    3. Darwin Fish (Salt or Fresh Water! It'll adapt!) - Can appear anywhere there is water since any fish at any given time could evolve into the Darwin Fish! This would include in-town waters like the fountain in Limsa! This fish will put up quite a fight since it has arms and legs to punch and kick with!
    4. Baby Seals (Salt Water) - Can be found at various spearfishing points near the ocean if you equip a club into your Off-Hand.
    5. Dolphins (Salt Water) - the rapists of the sea. We already have segregation and prejudice showing up in Culinarian quests, may as well add aquatic sexual predators too! Quest name, "To Catch a Delphinidae."

First of all nice thread. Before looking for new saltwater- and freshwaterlife I hope they add the legendary fish like Pirarucu, Dinichthys, Titanic sawfish, etc. And I hope they make the chances of getting them really legendary and not just like a normal tiger cod.
What I would like to be able to catch are deep sea fish. Those types of fish you don't see everyday and look outworldly. This is my top... list:

    Salt water life
    1. Frilled shark http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frilled_shark
    2. Hairy angler http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hairy_angler
    3. Pelican eel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pelican_eel
    4. Oarfish http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oarfish
    5. Atlantic sturgeon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic_sturgeon
    6. Pharaoh Cuttlefish http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pharaoh_Cuttlefish
    7. White marlin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic_white_marlin
    8. Swordfish http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swordfish
    Fresh water life
    1. Arapaima http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arapaima
    2. Marbled lungfish http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protopterus_aethiopicus
    3. Ghost knifefish http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apteronotidae
    4. Candiru (like's to bite and feed in the urinary tract of your genitals when peeing in amazonwater, lol) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candiru
    5. Coelacanth http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coelacanth

And last but definitely not least, how about adding the missing link between fish and first land animals as a sort of easter egg?
    Tiktaalik http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiktaalik

Lol, I let my enthusiasm get the better of me.
