I want to get back in the game but don't know how....

I feel like playing FFXIV but i absolutely have no motivation to do so. I can't think of anything to do in the game. I leveled my archer to 22 and Thau to lvl 20. All i did was guildleves and im sick of them now... it's always the same ones and then i got to wait a day and a half to do the same ones again.

I tried crafting but it is kind of boring... it takes way too long and too many items to craft a single item.

So what else is there to do? Behest too are kind of boring after a while... it gets too repetitive.

I had a 10 day trial for cata in WOW. I started a druid Worgen and let me tell you that i had a lot of fun. Questing is fun... it is a nice way to level and keep you entertained. In FFXIV i tried a few of the new sidequest.... god are they boring. all i did was walk forever to kill 1 or 2 enemies or to interact with some item and then walk some more.... no story or event in between... no sense of accomplishment at all.

How do you guys manage to get to R50? Do you just keep on grinding?

Grind, grind, grind and read forums on dual monitors while doing it. I think this game has alot of potential or I wouldn't waste my time. A great social linkshell helps pass the time as well. I don't blame you for feeling how you do at all though.

Uhmm. Have you tried questing on XIV? Its not as fun as questing on XIV, but I'm sure its at a WoW level. You won't see much SP this route, but its enjoyable.

Then you could try battle regime grind parties... they are godly SP.

Best way to get SP is a BR grind party that does behest every 30 minutes.

I think I did doblyns of some sort back then... but now that they got more HP I don't know if they are still a viable way of leveling. You should check out http://ffxiv.zam.com they have a few leveling guides in their forums. I'm not sure if they are up to date after the adjustments and all though.

Is the mines too full, you can search a grind camp with enemys ~10 level above your current rank. A linkshell or a static party help alot to make it more fun.
And the sidequest here are not to give you exp but to tell you a nice story about the world and the people in there.

The game is about grouping honestly, I cannot think of many people who hit 50 without being in a linkshell that is active. This is how I do it, if I did run events nightly in my linkshell I think half of it would of quit the game by now... several said they where about to before they joined it. The game is just not fun at all solo.

The current goals atm are building a character, unlike other mmos where it is a 1 job per character thing where when you hit cap you are done leveling you can think of FFXIV as having 350 fighting levels and a ton of gathering/crafting. The more you have the stronger your character is.

If you do not like grouping up for things in leves and normal partys outside leves and being big into becoming the best you can be on your character then there is literally no reason to play this game atm.

At endgame (the current one) you do have some world NMS and faction bosses but they are limited content, midgame you have 20 NMS. But in the end if you want a modern mainstream type mmo such as WoW where it is heavily quest based, solo progression oriented, and all of mid and endgame is instanced then this is not a game you will be able to get into.

At like r22-27 or so you want to hit the Mun-Tuy Cellars (watch out for the gnat NM), there're a lot of mobs which are easy to beat in a group of 5 or so and give high amounts of SP (especially the puks). Then at r27-35 you can do party at Tam-Tara Deepcroft. After that I'd recommend just doing leves/behest until you get to mid 40s then go to raptors at Boulder Downs, south of Camp Dragonhead.

    I hope this helps somehow.

Grind and guild leves. I like the leves cause I get money from them. My motivation to play as of right now is eggs caps, excited for af gears and such, and to level my botanist to 50 ^^

You just like me i have no motivation what so ever to play FFXIV but then again i have motivation to play any online game. I guess i was so happy for FFXIV to go good that i lost my motivation to play mmo. I'm wanting for this game to get good and be release to ps3 so my real life friends can join and i play with them maybe then i have some motivation.

i'll say log in and just do the leves and log off that what i do some times.
