I haven't had time to read beyond the first 2 pages, but I do have a moderate concern with how the AFK kicking system will be implemented. Namely will it take into account if you are in a (dungeon/pvp/xxx) queue? As a DPS I get queue times of up to 30 minutes, and if they implement a 15 minute timeout then it could be very dangerous to the playability of the game. Granted right now I am almost never afk, even while in a 30 minute queue I am constantly leveling another class. But as time passes we will all be maxing out the classes we truly care about, and then what do you do while you wait? The two solutions I've come up with are

    1) Do not consider afk while in any form of Queue
    2) Provide a warning when the user will be logged out in XX ammount of time.

    Just some food for thought.

Dude, if you leave your pc because of ueueing you deserve to be kicked, as you will also likely miss your queue. Seriously there are things to do while queueing up for DF, if you go afk you deserve to be kicked.

Well, no. Sometimes you are doing something else entirely like playing a flash-based browser game with a stamina system while waiting for your queue (i've done that) or watching some anime or even making dinner (i've done that as well Beans, rice, hamburgers and fists).
Either way, if you're in a queue you really shouldn't be AFK booted, and hell if you ARE AFK long enough to actually need to be booted (i'm hoping that the AFK timer is at minimum hour and a half) you're going to miss your queue and end up booted anyway.

I have dual monitors set up, as many other IT people do. I sometimes watch Netflix or something else on my other monitor while I play. Just because I'm not moving doesn't mean I'm not there, or even if I wasn't, who's to say I can't use my speakers and turn the volume all the way up to hear when the queue pops? Just because the DPS queues are 30 minutes long should not mean I should be forced to play for 30 minutes before I can run my dungeon. This is specifically why I said #2.

Edit: I also am not opposed to an AFK timer, in fact I'm all for it. But that doesn't mean it should be as simple as *player doesn't move/send command for 10 minutes so log them off without warning*.
