Some animations don't need to be that different between races. And most of the implementation I'm asking for doesn't actually need a new animation just a rehash of a current animation with new graphic overlay elements.

Like An archer casting Black Magic.

Show the Critical Hit animation up till the string is pulled all the way back, Once the string is let go a flaming arrow graphic shoots from the bow. Etc.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

    In theory, yes, that's perfect.
But take a look at how long it took SE just to *enlarge* spell effect,
I guess making new animations would take the rest of this millenium (which has only just started).

Yes - I can't imagine anyone being against this idea. It's a great idea! The bigger issue is where to prioritize it on the never ending list of stuff to be fixed and improved.

Kinda were my thoughts. I just don't see it happening in a cost related aspect rather than a good idea. I don't think anyone is in disagreement that this would be a much better way of animating casting and actions. I just don't see SE dishing out the time, money, and effort to make it happen with their full plate of stuff waiting to be adjusted/fixed. Its alot of work.

I was thinking about your idea today, and I have some questions/concerns.

    - I personally think shooting a healing arrow is much more aesthetically pleasing than summoning a pink blob on the target. Are you concerned that people may be upset to find animations looking better when used on non-native weapons?

-Again to the Archer shooting a healing arrow. Archers have larger range than casters, could that be used as an exploit in certain encounters or would it be reduced to the range of a conjurer casting it?

-You mentioned a gladiator drawing a circle on the ground for stoneskin. What if he has a dagger equipped? Would they implement animations for every weapon subset? (Sword/Dagger Wand/Staff)

-What are your ideas on magic classes using Disciple of War weapon skills/abilities? How do you envision their unique animations coming from a wand or staff equivalent? (Doomspike/Skull Sunder with a wand)

They might find them more "Exciting" but in reality the Archer still can not cast the spell as an AOE. and no the range would be the same as the spell, maybe lower.

"Drawing a line in the sand" doesn't mean the weapon touches the ground just that he crosses his sword in front of him and the ground lights up with the spell where the tip of his sword pointed, so even if you used it with a dagger it would just "appear" on the ground where the tip pointed even if not touching.

As for Mages using Physical attacks. I'd imagine them acting something like Nier. Specifically Doomspike could look like the spell where a spear of energy forms behind the user then flys forward striking the enemy.
