Not "Every Spell" But just like Every job in FFXI has a different way of casting its magic (Blue, vs White, vs Black, vs Summoning, etc.)
The way a Marauder casts a spell would be different from how a Pugilist Does.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

Everyone can equip any spell, they'd have to create an animation for each element, a "support" animation, an "attack" animation, and do this for all of the classes due to unique weapons for them all. In addition, down the line if/when they add new jobs with new classes of magic this problem would compound on itself. Not to mention they'd have to port all of it to a second platform (PS3) which may or may not even be able to handle it.

Kinda were my thoughts. I just don't see it happening in a cost related aspect rather than a good idea. I don't think anyone is in disagreement that this would be a much better way of animating casting and actions. I just don't see SE dishing out the time, money, and effort to make it happen with their full plate of stuff waiting to be adjusted/fixed. Its alot of work.Everyone can equip any spell, they'd have to create an animation for each element, a "support" animation, an "attack" animation, and do this for all of the classes due to unique weapons for them all.
