So instead we let them grow up thinking that it's perfectly fine to insult other people? I don't think that's the right solution. Riot Games is taking an interesting approach to solve this problem in League of Legends and they seem to be successful with it. Note that I'm not saying that League of Legends has a great and helpful community, but that they apparently found ways to reduce toxic player behaviour.

Kids don't need this extreme negativity of the internet to grow up - "real life" has enough of that already. There have always been and there will always be people who didn't learn their lesson and are more... sensitive than others. Internet communities won't fix that - if anything they'll make it worse.
