I hadn't played a game with cross-server DF before. When it was first announced, the 1.0 boards were split between "This'll make getting parties easier" and "DF ruins the community of every game".

Personally, I've had good experiences with it. Quick parties (when I switch to healer) and okay players (though not generally very talkative). The only time I've seen some friction was when the LNC and the WAR both took different paths in Blayfox (the WAR didn't appear to know the location of some coffers) and the War said we should be following him. When it was pointed out he was skipping chests he replied he knew where he was going.

We all just /shrugged, we were here for storyline completion anyway.

As such, I'm witholding judgment on whether Cross Server DF is a good or bad thing. I think single-server DF would be unquestionably a good thing, though.

Back on topic: If someone insults you, report it. If someone is trying to tell you how to do your job better, listen and honestly think about if they are right. If someone isn't performing as you expect, give them friendly advice. If that doesn't work, leave. There is no excuse for calling people names.

Ok, I'm going to leave this here for now.

I think there are some good points, some harsh ones, but overall, I'm glad I started the discussion.

For those of you that think we should all just 'deal with it', move on and let it go; well, I disagree, but that's what forums are for. No hard feelings.

To me it's a moral issue.

It's not about being a big baby, being thick skinned or needing to grow up. It's not about avoidance, poor performance or who's responsibility it is to act.

Really, it's about what's right and what's wrong.

    Plain simple.

Dont think that much about things that you cant change. Think about things you can change. Just because there are douchbags out there doesnt mean its your job to make them nice people.

Sticks and stones. People really need to get some thicker skin. Just leave if you don't like their comments. I would have just stayed and trolled them hard for as long as I could though, just keep failing at the end and then ask if they mad. That too me would have been more fun that finishing it.

I agree with this, but you can't change what nerds in a video game are going to do, the problem is they are worthless IRL and use the anonymity of the internet to vent. Your best bet is just to leave them to their pathetic existence and move on, or troll the heck out of them until they are mad.

This is why I hate duty finder lobbies in ALL games.

Those of you blaming WoW players for this must not have played other online games, or maybe WoW was your first.

The jerks and ragers have always been there. Quick queue lobbies with no accountability or consequences for behavior due to being mixed with random players that you may never see again brings out the worst in gamers.

People don’t normally act this way if they have to play with their own server in an MMO, because they’ll get blacklisted and have nothing to do. The immature ones (I won't call them kids because many of them are adults) are fully aware they can just hit “quick queue” and jump in and be a jerk to their party, and still get everything done they need to.

I personally have thick skin. But if you take time out of your day to act like the guy in the screenshot, I’ll take time out of my day to report you for violating the TOU. So far though, my duty finder experiences in FFXIV have been pleasant.

These threads always remind me of this

    @OP:
Are you honestly blaming Duty Finder for this ? Because obviously, if you had to create a party from your server, things like that would NEVER happen, right ?...

I admit that what has been said in that dungeon is not very nice. In fact, as others pointed, you can use the ''Report For Harrassment'' feature in the Support Desk. I mean, it's a MMORPG, you will totally meet people like that now and then. Either you just ignore them, flame them, or report them.

Now, Duty Finder is just a great tool helping everyone. Just keep doing your job, keep practicing as a tank, you'll become better one day. And ignore those stupid people.

No mate, I love duty finder. It's quality. Just trying to bring attention to where it's happening most.

Hopefully reminding people that this isn't call of duty or GTA V. It's rated 12, there are kids about and they'll get shafted by people who think it's cool to be abusive.

We probably can't stop it, but if enough people are aware, these dudes will eventually get banned and we can all move on.
