Soukyuu I get your point and I agree completely. I'm not saying make mages in half-naked pieces of cloth. I'm saying spice it up a little, maybe put small armour piece here and there, some shiny crystals, more detail to the robe, maybe a ripped or burned robe at the end, fancy collars around the chest and waist. That's what I mean by epic-looking armour. Not other mmos and their 'mages'.

I love the 'realistic' part of XIV as much as you do, I just don't like dull simplicity.

Colliseum gear got released exactly because people were asking for more armor of that type. This is about the only exception and a lot of people complained about it back when those were introduced since they didn't fit the rest of the armors.
