    The return of curious creatures?

With all the talk about how the world lacks immersion and how they could do little things to make the world better, I can't help but miss the little coblyns curiously following me once in a while. I think that I'd like the return of them - but only on the condition that if you start fighting another mob, they switch from curious to fearful and run away. This, for me, seems realistic. You casting a spell or something would freak them out, so they'd run. But just walking around? I don't mind that.

I'm predicting most of you WOULD mind it, but I thought I'd make the thread anyway.

They were both good and bad. The good part is that it made them seem more real. The bad part is they always got in the way of your aoe attacks, becoming the furious creature. But if they make the proper adjustments or do away with the claiming system for normal monsters, I would not mind at all if they became curious again.

I think it was a mistake removing the interactions the mobs had with you outside battle. I found it a nice addition to have mobs that will watch you, come check you out, follow you, run from you.

I miss it too. At least make them run away after a few seconds...don't like the stalker goats.

I loved the way some monsters runned away from us. The curious feature was "needed" to be removed though...it was terrible annoying because they picked this to be at the most common monsters of the game, like dodos and goats, which often caused a VERY troublesome point....Billies, which are terribly high for the areas he is (often 10 ranks higher than nannies) being clustering behind players and end up getting hit by AoE attacks. This was very annoying.

However, i'd like to see this feature back in more rare monsters, like you having fireflies, goblins or spriggans (that rarely are clustered) still following you. Those "personality" traits of some monsters were a very nice addition, being only the monster type wrong. If things were changed so nannies were curious but billies not, it would be already good enough to fix it...or adding sound-based skills that allow you no scare away monsters, changing their personality to "coward" like antelope does so they would run away instead of attacking.

I actually liked the fact that you had to go around them not to get followed to get to the mob you wanted or being careful with aoe when they did find you and followed :P was more of a challenge. And yes loved the ones that would run away from you. I'd like to see them back

I loved the monster interactions and miss them a lot. The curious enemies never bothered me personally and the ones that ran away from you weren't even a problem so I would definitely support this coming back. A way to fix curious enemies is to make them scared of combat so make them run away if you engage something.

i'd like to see an area where there is curious creatures like tonberry's that are curious to see you in their zone, they come to you and follow you around a bit then you see that their lantern glows and another tonberry comes and soon there'll be four of them on you and next thing you know you get shanked at every angle... like curious mobs that'll only attack you in groups because they're to afraid to fight you alone.

you know reading these comments makes me wonder WHY they don't add it because like you said...immersion. I think it makes roaming the wild and exploring and just being out and about more fun and more cautious. I miss the times when someone would accidently AOE a close mob and then everyone perks up and the battle plan has to change and teamwork is needed...maybe even a few fallen at the end of the fight but all this MAKES A BATTLE A BATTLE...isn't this what makes a battle system fun??? maybe this little things is what XIV battle system is missing.
Curious ones may follow but may be become frightened and run upon player action and certain ones will join a battle if still in range and certain ones that may only attack if a healing spell is used and attack the healer.
I think its little details like this that actual keep us on our toes and on the look out.

I for one loved the different interactions monsters had when i started playing, it was one of the few cool things that there was nothing to complain about when the game launched. I then quit because of all the other reasons but now that i've returned and really see the progress this game has made, i love it. But why did they remove this(creature interactions), it was the only thing i really loved from the start of the game! And as you guys above me state it could really put some more action into the battle system!
