Selling an item of my gear set...no warning?

I suspect this has been mentioned as I don't believe for a second I'm the only one getting regularly pissed off by this.

When turning in levequest items, especially crafting leves can we please have the turn in NOT take items from my armoury chest ?! I would love items to be taken ONLY from my inventory. I keep handing in gear for crafting leves or similar and have on occasion handed an item over thats part of a gear set without realising. It really gets my goat ! lol

You should really know what you have equipped. It takes 5 seconds to display sets that aren't equipped.

We have some updated information from Hiroshi Minagawa regarding gear set UI, as well as making it easier to replace items that are missing from a gear set.

In order to guard against players accidentally storing or selling items that belong to gear sets, we will be placing a mark on the equipment icon for items that are registered to gear sets.

This feature will be implemented in patch 2.1, and as you know thiis is coming real soon, so hang in there just a little bit longer.

Also, though there are generally only a few cases where items are missing from a gear set, we are planning to display something along the lines of the below confirmation when equipment is replaced:

The “XXXX sword” registered to this gear set cannot be found in your Armoury Chest. Would you like to replace it with a different piece of equipment?

If you select cancel, it won't change your equipment.

If the main weapon for a gear set is missing, we feel that as long as we can avoid situations where the gear set has to be deleted, then it will be okay to change equipment in other slots normally and update the gear set.

In addition to these adjustments we are proceeding to make other minor improvements to gear sets and retainers; however, it's a bit difficult to show our plans with only text on the forums, so once everything is finalized I will be sure to share with you all.

When we were working on patch 2.1's item sort feature, we expanded and improved the programming so that other various item-related processes could occur.

With these improvement, after patch 2.1 we plan on implementing convenience features that players currently spend time doing such as an option to replace items missing from gear sets, making it possible to search for where you put your item, and store full gear sets on your retainer.

*The content of the above examples have not been finalized and they are only things that we are looking into implementing.

We are in the midst of talking to the programmer to discuss the order in which these can be implemented, so I will let you all know later in what order these are implemented and in what patch!

This is fantastic....now...how about this..? :

Since I had my PLD AF in 1.0, I went to go and re do all the quests in 2.0. I had some darklight gear at the time of doing these quests. So when doing the quest where you go around and pick up the different pieces of your AF...I noticed that it actually allowed me to pick up duplicates.

So, now I have some duplicate AF gear that I cannot store (because the original is stored, and can't have more than one) and I cannot sell(obviously) or even discard! I am stuck with a few dead slots in my inventory because of this. How am I supposed to get rid of duplicate AF?

Had I known it'd actually let me acquire a second set of the same AF...I would have been more careful...

They're not done yet and who knows when or if all of them will be implemented as suggested. I sure hope so. Maybe i'm just being pessimistic but let's hope things go well. I'm hoping.

The missing item notification really should have been implemented right from the beginning. Precise, specific error messages is like computer science 101, last I heard.

But I welcome the changes, obviously. Still sad that there's been absolutely no information whatsoever on the add-on/plug-in side of things, though. :3
