Well, I can give you a general price of a decent mid-end gaming build:

CPU approx $300 depending on which one you get i5, i7 vs. i5, i7 haswell
Motherboard: approx $100 depending on the model
    Ram: 8gb approx $50-60
Graphics card: a nice decent one will run you approx $250-300
PSU (assuming you need to upgrade) approx $50

And if you want to add a bigger CPU cooler than the stock ones, or a new case(to have enough room for the graphics card)..fans, etc. That can add up.

Yes let's listen to you guys, i'm so glad that you have the money to fully upgrade to i5/i7. Trust me if I had that kind of money I would. I upgrade what I can, when I can and to what I can. If you feel it's wrong tough shit. Oh and in regards to the sound card, maybe you should actually do your research. A dedicated soundcard will reduce the cpu load of sound generation drastically while providing a much better sound quality and rendering than any onboard sound will ever do. I know exactly what I'm talking about and could give a flying fuck if you think I do or not.

Well, what I know is that the load isn't huge on the cpu for the sound...unless of course, the cpu itself is weak to being with.

Plus, the OP said that money isn't a issue, so...better to go with the most recent line of CPUs than an outdated one as a recommendation amiright?

Blind leading the blind its great. You give the worst advice. Yea I understand some people don't have the money to upgrade. But you have no logic in what you say. Instead of being a total jack ass and giving him completely stupid reason to just upgrade to a shitty processor and go 6 GB DDR2. Worst fucking advice ever.

Fact is he would have to upgrade within months.

^ So true, it would be pointless because he would have to upgrade again rather soon.

If you take a look, he added that in later...

With money not being an issue this is what i'd recommend:

    BenQ 24” LED Monitor
    Corsair PSU HX 1050 Watt
    Corsair Vengeance Memory 16GB
    GeForce GTX 680 4GB
    ASUS Maximus VI Formula
    Intel Core i7-4770K
    LG 24x Internal DVD Burner
    Windows 8 Pro
    Seagate Momentus XT 750GB 7200RPM
    Thermaltake Chaser MK-I
    Samsung 840 250GB
    Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme
    Soundblaster ZxR

Looks good to me. Although maybe he can invest in a GTX Titan if he really wanted to go all out, lol.

that's my economical wish list. I have another one that includes dual titans and a few items that are sitting on the optional spreadsheet.

Not trying to start a rage, but just saying seeing how I'm the only person who has posted a amd system.
Nothing against intel and I will admit you will get higher frame rates with a
Intel system but not by much.
Amd system will do what you want it to do and won't cost you as much money wise.

It's about time I upgraded my computer anyways.

    Windows 7 32 Bit
    Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 @ 2.60GHz
    Video: Nvida GeForce 9800 GT
RAM: 4GB, 2 sticks of 2GB, 3.50 at max. Though I don't think I'm running on 3.50 GB ram. Does RAM get depleted over time? My comp seems slower lately.
    Motherboard: Asus P5KPL SE

While I run final fantasy, I open up task manager and go to performance, the "CPU usage" meter isn't very high, it's pretty normal, sometimes spiking up to 80-90% but it mostly stays on 50%, Same thing for the "memory" meter, it rises up while running final fantasy, leaving only 1.3GB of memory usage left. Tho for some reason when I ran the benchmark thing and checked the cpu usage it was like at the limit.

Idk what's going on with my computer but some insight would be nice so I could forward it to the tech place, most likely gonna have to buy a lot of new parts. This comp is about 4 years old (2009). And I don't think JUST buying a new video card, the one recommended on the FF page will help.

Money isn't a problem but I don't think I'm gonna spend a lot on state of the end parts JUST for FF, when I can run games that I usually play a lot like League of Legends on 60 fps perfectly fine.
recommending you to build a new PC...coz your old PC need to change all specs anyway
