Oh my god. This was the hardest thing I've ever done. Scholars basically get their healing halved in this fight because we can't possibly cleanse the debuff off our pet that the first boss (Locksmith?) uses.

The fight goes something like this: Boss debuffs everyone with a stacking debuff. You have to eat a fruit to get rid of it. Higher stacks=alot more damage. The pet does NOT get the debuffs cleansed by you eating fruit, though. I feel this is an oversight in this particular fight as it punishes SCH unbelievably harshly unlike any other boss fight I've done sofar.

I imagine SMN has a hard time putting out good DPS here too, though arguably the tank pet is a bit sturdier and can survive for awhile longer.

I had to spend like 50% of the fight resummoning my fairy during momentary lulls in the fight and careful coordination with the tank, and the rest spamming heals like there was no tomorrow and hoping the tank was good enough to survive as well as rely on some lucky crits. No way I could heal that without my pet either because the damage is pretty damn high.

Same issue on the last boss, to some extent. The debuff isn't *nearly* as nasty at the last fight though.

TL;DR: Eating fruits during Locksmith encounter should also cleanse your pet.
