Since you're near 30 and only been to Sastasha I'm guessing you're not advancing the main storyline
Yeah, I know I'm only a couple of steps away from Sastasha, by I've been putting it off while working on my hunting log. I'm going to finish off the level 30 entry and go ahead and advance. I've gotta say, though, I'm not looking forward to it. Last attempt and experience kind of left a sour taste in my mouth.

Why don't they make it so each method gives you something more than the other?

Fate would give you seals, some exp, little Gil.

Dungeons give you gear, decent exp,

Open world grind give you exp, decent Gil.

This way if you need one if gear, exp, or seal you can pick one.

I entered Sastasha in beta 3, but my group was disorganized, to say the least. The healer didn't heal, the tank ran ahead of everyone constantly and the second DPS class died and quit within the first five minutes. I just really dislike the Duty Finder system, and I don't know a single other person who plays this game with whom to team for such tasks. Makes dungeon crawling kind of a chore.
So you tried one dungeon and had a bad experience and now you know they aren't your cup of tea? Because of that the duty finder is not good?

At the rate you can level from zerging FATEs it is creating some really terrible players. I couldn't understand how a tank in a mid level dungeon wasn't able to keep threat on a single mob. I mean they HAD to level through some dungeons to get to Longstop right? Then I thought about it a little longer... FATEs.

I'm fine with the amount of exp you get. However I hope that SE reconsiders the spawn timers on FATEs in areas below level 45. Make it so no FATE spawns within a certain amount of time between each other. Say like 10 minutes. That might just put enough pressure on people to queue up for DF and have them really learn to play their class.

I guess you're missing a big chunk of content. You won't be able to get airship pass, retainer, grand company, chocobo and other stuffs.

I agree...even on my first class using 95% of the quests I came across including main story, it feels like this grind from 46-49 is taking forever. I can't imagine leveling a job from 15-50 without doing fates 80% of the time. Even just having a couple dungeons where it's mostly just trash mobs for people to kill with a party and get exp would be nice. Then people who don't want that grind can avoid it, and people who want it can queue up in DF for it.

Making one way to level better than another will create more posts about "I don't like how X way of doing things is better than Y" Fates are fine imo, you have to do the main story line anyway. I like running dungeons for loot, but wouldn't enjoy grinding them for xp.

People need to stop thinking FATES are too high XP, they want them nerfed after 2 weeks of playing the game when everyone is around their level. ya its a little ridiculous when 200 people kill a fate in 2 minutes, but in 4 weeks when you will be running into fates with just you and your party do you really wanna say, "well it would take us 15 minutes to do it and since they nerfed the XP its not even worth it anymore" very bad call to nerf or even suggesting a nerf without a game at least going for a quarter of a year, you wont have an accurate economy, you wont have an accurate DF Q time, you wont have an accurate progression table from 1 to 50. You need to stop thinking so short minded as to the today and think about the mechanics 3 months from now.
when there wont be everyone in the same zone, do you want to have to wait maybe 1 hour for a Q into a dungeon thats been buffed to have a slightly better XP gain, while contemplating wasting time on the FATES you had nerfed into the ground. Players need to stop suggesting game tweaks. Leave it to SE, Just play the game. there are aspects of the designing process and distribution of everything in the game that you, me and everyone else wouldn't consider or understand. Just play the game.

I'm not saying SE should nerf FATEs (though it wouldn't bother me if they did). Instead, maybe the exp could be pumped up a bit? Or at least bring them more in line with one another.
I am sorry but i am in favor of more open world activities like FATE's and less in favor of instanced grind. Been there done that since days of WOW. But open world dynamic events is something new and exciting and so much more can be done with this.

No one will be forcing you to do them, people just want choice. Not all of us have to patience to deal with 100 man mobs running to every fate and finishing them at lightning speed. It's fast but it isn't exactly fun for a lot of people. Open world activities are fine and all but the FATE system is pretty poorly implemented atm due to a lack of proper scaling depending on how many people are in it. So choices. Choices in how you can level really wouldn't hurt anyone.
