I was able to play the game before yesterday updates. So I assume the update corrupted some files, and I just need to reinstall the game. But if you anybody have a fix without having to reinstall the game, would be greatly appreciated.

Same problem here any fix besides reinstalling?
I was having the same problem. I'd click play and the launcher would load a little and then close out, nothing else happening. Then I ran the game as an administrator, which got the game player to open, but now I get a Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has stopped working.

Deleted the folder inside my Games and had to click the EULA again but it's now working
This is what I did that fixed it (I have windows 7 so going to base my example on it):
***NOTE: IT MAY RESET YOUR IN GAME CONFIGURATIONS AS WELL AS HOTKEYS AND GEAR SETS!***
1. Click on start circle.
2. Click on Documents.
3. Click My Games folder.
4. Delete FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn (You may want to back up your screenshot folder if those are important for you).
5. Start launcher and accept the terms.
6. Log in without an error.
Hope this helps!
