Bad performance in Borderless Fullscreen Mode

In Full Screen mode my game stutters when I move the camera so I play in Borderless Fullscreen

The problem is that when players appear or I load assets when I advance in any area.. my performance starts to decrease.. and I'm forced to Alt+Tab to fix it

The game has a really smooth camera movement in Borderless Fullscreen but my performance starts to decrease after a few minutes of gameplay.. the thing is that if I Alt+Tab my stutters goes away but after a while this reapeats over and over

Any fix.. workaround?

I have the same issue with NVIDIA GEFORCE 630M. Every time i alt+tab when i come back i run the game at 30/40 FPS for some mins and then back to 18-20.
It's like if the game cant use all the power of my pc

My 7970m does the same thing, the game isn't really optimized all that well sadly. I should be able to run this game max settings

i7 4770k
GTX 760 2GB
8 Gigs of ram
Win 7 64 bits

I hope SE can fix this issue.. I have to Alt+Tab every 5 minutes.. in dungeons is really hard to do it

My overall performance isn't very acceptable. When im in Limsa the fps is one big clusterf*** with stuttering and below average FPS. When im outside in different Zones, fighting, the performance is fine, but its definitely not running at 60 and nowhere near compareable to when I play World of Warcraft where everything is like butter.

I have no idea if its possible to see fps in-game but I can easily tell its not 60. Dont know if FFXIV is simply a demanding game or if its the programming done bad.

This isn't an answer, however games work best in full screen - this one included. If it's not, that might point to a larger issue > Drivers, Vsync settings, frame buffering, pre rendered frames ahead(this one in particular might alleviate stuttering if raised).
If the game degrades over time - and we can't isolate it as a game only issue - than it's a memory filling issue e.g. GPU running out of memory. That's suspect though, I'd be hard pressed to believe that a single monitor setup at 1080p takes all 2GB.

What are your in-game settings under system configuration and what of your Nvidia control panel settings?

My Nvidia Settings are all default and using the 326.80 driver.. MB drivers up to date also and Windows update full

My in game settings are all maxed out except for Shadows Normal 1024p.. enabled LOD and Occlusion Culling for better performance.. 1920x1080 60hz

My framerate is really good all the time.. 60 fps even with lots of people with some drops when there is extreme action on screen.. but the stutter is the main problem.. in Fullscreen the game have less stutter but the camera movement isn't smooth that's why I play in Borderless Fullscreeen

From what you're describing you could have a frame buffer issue in Full Screen. In your Nvidia control panel, under Manage 3d settings there is a setting titled 'Maximum Prerendered Frames' Try adjusting this to it's lowest value and testing for any difference in Full Screen. If no change or it's worse, adjust it to it's highest value and try again.
Make sure to Apply settings and you have to rerun FFXIV each time for them to work.

This does not point to a resolution on why Borderless windowed mode has degradation. It could also be fragmentation of the hard disk? It might manifest itself as a problem in full screen because the game is caching differently. Or are you using an SSD?
