i have 190 perception and get a ton of HQ goby bites

just gotta use the right bait for them...

What would the right bait be? I have tried all baits and seems HQ rates are still the same. Lugworms, Rat tails, Goby balls, and Pill bugs.
Do baits have hidden HQ multipliers that I don't know about?

Hello! Ive been currently testing this spot for about 10hours now using all level 50 green fishing gear just for our class with some + perception and + gathering Materia installed.

When i first arrived at this location i caught a few silver sharks right away. However now i cannot catch any. When i try to mooch i get a normal goby again. I think the weather has alot to do with this. Only under certain weather can you mooch a silver shark.

i used about 500 goby balls , and i tried a floating lure for a while. Both catch HQ gobys but when using mooch they wont land a silver shark.

I think HQ chance caps like other gathering jobs. Which really sucks.

You best bet is to find a high level spot with low level bait that has gobys and silver sharks. For example, I use goby balls at my spot which singles out gobys and ocean clouds whichs are level 3 and 6 respectfully and takes the other five fish out of the loop. Allowing me to target the shark.

Just tried out the western thanalan spot...way better than waiting around blood shore

I pulled 10 sharks in a very short period
so 10 sharks + 25gp hammer head sharks = 1 shark oil
10 shark oils sell for 45,000 (before tax)

and i thought fishing was useless now :P
