Silver Shark Questions

Yea I'm guessing you really need to be near 50 to be able to have the gear (read: perception) to fish them reliably... I'm level 30 now and I've been fishing a bunch in south bloodshore, I've only gotten 1 HQ fullmoon sardine and it didn't even yield me a shark, instead I pulled in a blue octopus

It's a lot easier to just use Lugworms and mooch Merlthor Gobies instead of going for the time restricted sardines. Getting Blue Octopus instead of the shark seems to be about 1/10 chance for me.

*EDIT* Need Hammerhead as well using Yumizuno lure (level 48 lure) found at Western La Noscea at Halfstone with a Northern Kill or a Streamer. Just FYI.

First of all, the information is not wrong. Our mooching is probably how 99% of the people will get their first shark. Also, I had no fricken clue you could catch anything you need to mooch with bait/lure instead. Kinda defeats the purpose of having a mooch then doesn't it?

Best place to attempt Silver Shark is probably South Bloodshore. You can use low level bait like lugworms and only catch Merlthor Gobies and possibly the Coral Butterfly on occasion. Singling out the Gobies will give more chances at catching an HQ version, allowing you to Mooch. The downside is Blue Octopus shares bites on Mooched catches, so it'll be a crapshoot on what you catch.

yep this is THE spot, use lugworm and you'll ONLY catch Gobies. and if you get HQ Gobies you get silver shark or blue octopus.

I want a second opinion on using lure to catch silver shark before I'll believe it. I won't take one persons opinion on it.

Not sure if theres a place where you get a Silver Shark only from Mooching and not having other fish stealing the bait.
