How do you join a Grand Company and Get a Dang Chocobo!

I am a level 28 ARC, went to the other two city states done everything (guildhests, story quest, dungeons, levelmente, etc.......) and I see that people whose level is lower then me got a pet mount or a chocobo mount! how is that possible? is the GC through story quest or what? I am sick of sprinting my ass to kingdom come to every damn place that needs my attention!

Where do you join this GC and get a Chocobo? I looked at my free company and it said im a rank 5 in the order of the twin adder (status: Respected) Silent Mayhem (SM)

And where do you get the mechanical full armoured chocobo?

You'll join a GC automatically through the story quests, so just keep going through the quest and you'll get there. After you join your GC you'll get a side-quest for a "Company Chocobo." You'll get a whistle and be able to summon your chocobo anytime (while not in a major city). The companion your talking about is a LVL 30 quest that you get in I forget where. But it's called "My Feisty Little Chocobo" or something.

Anyway, the quest to join a GC is part of the main story quest. You get a quest at the Waking Sands to listen to the representatives of each GC, and then make your choice to join one. If you haven't gotten that cutscene/quest yet, that's what you're missing. Keep going with the main story. Once you join a GC, it takes 2000 seals (available through GC hunting log, FATEs, GC leves and supply/provision turn-ins) to get your chocobo license.

Your FC is rank 5, and respected with the Twin Adder. That has nothing to do with you individually.

If you're talking about the magitek mount, that's a reward for the main story quest much later on (I think lvl 50). If you mean the chocobo with Behemoth barding, that's a Collector's Edition reward.

For the companion chocobo, it's level 30 quest in Camp Tranquill. After that, you have to buy Gysahl Green to summon them.

It's really curious how you managed to get to level 28 and not be far enough in the story to have a chocobo yet. The part where you join a GC happens shortly after defeating Ifrit, which is normally somewhere around level 20-22.

thanks for the input on this i will have to get to work on my dungeons once i get back in. Dont mind the running around but it will get old eventually. For now, i still am in love with this amazingly beautiful world and all the changes of night and day and weather....have to remember where to get the greens, i saw them somewhere but forget where now.
