Defiance still lacking in comparison to Shield Oath

I fought Titan for the first time last night. Our Bard kept dying half way through the fight from landslide, total noob. We were still able to take him down from 50% HP. I think that's the balance, but my opinion is only up to that point (lvl 36).

Before Inner Beast, Titan was balanced for Warrior. After Inner Beast, he's a cake provided your DDs live long enough to kill the heart. I and a WHM killed him from pretty much 50%. If the WHM gets locked up in rock, I just use my full BB combo, Inner Beast and Mercy Stroke. Titan hardly dent me through all that. The problem is later on bosses hit so much harder than gears scaling that Inner Beast probably won't matter as much so PLD outshines with their 20% damage mitigation that wasn't available in story mode Titan (lvl40) while WAR gets 2 skills that consumes Wrath stacks and does literally nothing for main boss tanking. I agree with keeping healing off the stacks on Defiance and boost it to 25% more heal.
I still plan on rolling Warrior to end game just cause I like the thrill of having my HP going up and down like crazy like a skill of ours suggest "Thrill of Battle".
