What I do is click on their name in chat, click "Send Tell", then modify the command from /tell Vile Spammer to /blist add "Vile Spammer"

Works a little faster and is easier to work with than trying to type those names where the gil spammers mash their face into their keyboards to make the names.

I cancelled my subscription tonight because of the gold seller spam. Completely ridiculous. Simple solution...right-click report spam or ignore. Bad enough they get away with flooding chat so nobody can read , but then I have to remember their silly scramble of letters they call a name and use my game time to type it in. How was this not taken care of already?! And when I hit escape while I am typing I expect it to CLEAR what I was typing and then decided not to say when I hit escape. But nope, gotta go delete it or backspace it. Beautiful game with a broken chat log.

I like the dungeons scheme that forces you to do 100+ runs to get the gear, point blank not right. I rather do different dungeons that give you more gil also items. right now they have only given us gil below 50- for each trash mob, due to RMT again not our problem. Not every player is RMT that wants to sell gil to 3rd party. They are just making it hard for players that are genuine trying to make gil. Also Stop with the crafting bull shit we hear all the time lol.

SE needs to stop botters/hacks that are destroying the economy by putting everything for 1gil on AH when you can sell it to the merchant for that much lol.
Its the same fate diablo 3 gone through (what did they do blizzard took out AH lol).

It blacklists the last person that sent you a tell...

What I'd like to see SE do is IP ban RMT/Bot/cheaters, and when they confirm an RMTer, bot or cheater, get their STF to do an IP trace on the game sessions and look for the proxies that they may well use, and IP ban those as well.

Well if SE has made it hard for users to get the gil people will buy it that's the problem SE does not understand

There's no perfect spot on the scale between "old-school MMORPG mega-grind" and "boring faceroll". Everyone's different. Plus it seems like most people prefer games to offer a challenge (some amount of grind).

SE basically admitted that there was too much gil flowing out of the economy than in, and they're correcting that. However part of that was an unbalanced rush to level, ignoring the many ways to make gil. Plus, with only dozens of crafters and thousands of eager customers, prices were naturally high (the law of supply and demand).

To SE's shame, they confiscated all that gil from the top crafters but let the people who bought that gil keep playing and keep their ill-gotten gear. At least in this way, SE is complicit in keeping the RMT cycle alive. So in this sense, yes, I guess there are some things SE doesn't seem to understand.

I turned off every channel except party, free company and link shell the first day the servers went live, and it really hasn't gotten any better.

It's definitely getting better wrt gold spam. The density of tells is lower and you can see the workarounds the gil sellers use becoming more and more extreme. Some of the messages have become arcane enough that the meaning of their contact information is not immediately obvious. If this continues, I can see chat spam becoming economically non-viable in the foreseeable future.

They really must implement just click on the name in the log/chat window
Looked at my blacklist the other then and have 68 names on there
there is one individual that has tried under several names but always has the first name Goldceo
and usually just changes a few letters from the last name.
maybe i will send him a tell next time and tell them off. (it would make me feel better)
