Well if SE has made it hard for users to get the gil people will buy it that's the problem SE does not understand

There's no perfect spot on the scale between "old-school MMORPG mega-grind" and "boring faceroll". Everyone's different. Plus it seems like most people prefer games to offer a challenge (some amount of grind).

SE basically admitted that there was too much gil flowing out of the economy than in, and they're correcting that. However part of that was an unbalanced rush to level, ignoring the many ways to make gil. Plus, with only dozens of crafters and thousands of eager customers, prices were naturally high (the law of supply and demand).

To SE's shame, they confiscated all that gil from the top crafters but let the people who bought that gil keep playing and keep their ill-gotten gear. At least in this way, SE is complicit in keeping the RMT cycle alive. So in this sense, yes, I guess there are some things SE doesn't seem to understand.

I turned off every channel except party, free company and link shell the first day the servers went live, and it really hasn't gotten any better.

It's definitely getting better wrt gold spam. The density of tells is lower and you can see the workarounds the gil sellers use becoming more and more extreme. Some of the messages have become arcane enough that the meaning of their contact information is not immediately obvious. If this continues, I can see chat spam becoming economically non-viable in the foreseeable future.

Goldceo has multiple accounts on Phoenix as well, one of the biggest pains ever
I think i have several Goldceo names on my blacklist and have sent in reports

What I can't figure out is why the hell SE isn't suing the living crap out of these people for the damage they do to SE's business and the multiple and repeated violations of the terms of service.

They really must implement just click on the name in the log/chat window
Looked at my blacklist the other then and have 68 names on there
there is one individual that has tried under several names but always has the first name Goldceo
and usually just changes a few letters from the last name.
maybe i will send him a tell next time and tell them off. (it would make me feel better)
