What is FFXIV lacking?

I think you summed up everything that's missing from this game.

Exactly.

Someone could do a better video by putting the best scenery and atmosphere from XIV than that posted in the OP. But right now we don't have the sense of accomplishment that make those scenery feel special and meaningful.
